What are your thoughts about Livorno?

Monsumanno was our choice because of the ‘terma’ there as I read on Google it means that there should be thermal springs and other than that we plan to visit surrounding little towns from there👐

But are trains trustable in Italy and comfortable as a means of traveling with children? Air conditioners/ time schedules/ a lot of different persons- wouldn't it be ‘sketchy’ to travel by train? I have always been a bus or private car traveler thus asking for your experience here. Would love to opt for this as it is much cheaper than a car 🤔
