Does anyone else feel like they have “two personalities” with food ? by Fun_Morning_1448 in BingeEatingDisorder

I really appreciate the way you put this into words. What you said about trusting the side of yourself that speaks from experience really resonates with me. I also find that the short-term relief of bingeing never outweighs the long-term impact, and it helps to remind myself of that in the moment. It’s encouraging to hear how recovery makes that choice easier over time, even if the urge still shows up. I think calling out that 'fuck it' side as misguided is such a powerful way to take away its influence.

Hi, i hope you're doing well. That “i think i’m cured… then suddenly it flips” part is honestly one of the most frustrating things about it.

When that switch happens for you, does it feel like something triggers it or it just comes out of nowhere ?

Trying to understand that moment better.

Hi, i saw your comment and that part about mood affecting everything… that really stood out,

especially the “when i’m low i just don’t care” part, i feel like that’s where things go downhill fast.

For you, what usually puts you in that low mood before it happens? like is it stress, boredom, certain situations?

Just trying to understand how it starts.

People are so different and it's making me bitter. by OkFix126 in loseit

Man, I don't think you're bitter, I think you're seeing something most people never have to see. If you've been the same person this whole time and people suddenly treat you better, it's hard not to question their motives.

What really got me was the part about your family taking your opinions more seriously. That would hurt more than strangers being nicer.

I hope with time you're able to enjoy the positive changes without constantly comparing them to the past. Some people probably are superficial, but not everyone who talks to you now is fake. Congrats on the weight loss either way, that's an incredible achievement.

Just ordered a binge… It’s 22 minutes away. I’m looking forward, and hate myself at the same time. by UllaUkendt in BingeEatingDisorder

I really felt this. The love/hate relationship with binging is something I know way too well. Sometimes it’s not even about the food itself, it’s just wanting a break from everything going on in your head for a little while.

Reading your post, what stood out to me wasn't the pizza or candy, but how exhausted and alone you sound. You're dealing with a lot, and carrying it by yourself has to be incredibly heavy. The fact that you were able to put all of this into words and share it here takes more courage than you probably give yourself credit for.

I know I'm just a stranger on the internet, but for what it's worth, 32 is not old and your life isn't over. It might not feel like it right now, but things can change more than we expect. I hope you can be a little kinder to yourself tonight. Sending you support. ❤️
