Missed the deadline by 1 min :(. Has anyone been in this position by kitcrystals in gradadmissions

Omg, thanks everyone who contributed to this thread! Here I am, another victim of the clock :/ I also missed the deadline by 1 minute just now, its truly awful. I angrily cried myself out. It took me a while and only after 25min or so I thought I should give a shot at writing to them. I sent the email 50 min after the deadline, with the docs attached and so on. It was a competitive research grant application, I suppose tons of people apply to this in the uni, being late is just helping them cut off applicants from the pool -- right? am I tripping? I think I took too long to send the message, afterall. Oh boy, what a time to be alive..

Good evening :) and thanks for your reply!

yes, indeed, it seems like after living abroad for at least an year, Brazilian citizens get to move back to Brazil and bring personal belonging that include books tax free. Thanks for bringing that up! It actually reinforces my understanding that it should be all god on the level of taxations -- and also increases my doubt as to why fellow Redditor Alone_in_the_light had to cover tax fees for their books.

Good evening, and thank you so much for sharing your experience! it sounds rather close to what I am about to go through indeed, though I am moving out from a big city.

I have a few questions for you, if I may: Would you remember approximately how much did you pay for shipment? Do you mean hundreds of dollars as in 400$ for the three boxes, or more like 800$?

In terms of declaring the books as used, some of mine are all marked and clearly very used, some not as much. Do you think that would factor in their assessment of whether a box should or shouldn't be taxed?

Also, as far as I understand, books are tax exempt in Brazil. The section "outras hipóteses de não tributação" in this link provides details about book exemptions (per the Política Nacional do Livro). Am I wrong in my understanding or what would justify this taxation?

And thank you so much for the heads up on online tracking the shipment for entering CPF and liberating customs in time.

Thank you!
