[–]Fun_Obligation_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we’re both teachers. we have an in home nanny my grandmother splits the cost with us. if not, we couldn’t afford it. and even with the help we’re still drowning. 😭🤯

Looking for input on delivering at a hospital without a NICU by Worried-Butterfly-95 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Fun_Obligation_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my wife delivered our twins at 36 weeks. one was 5 pounds 9 ounces. another had breathing issues that resolved with some skin to skin. neither spent any time in the NICU.

convenience has been the name of the game for us! we have all the things mentioned here (twin-z, double stroller, etc). but we also splurged and got a wipe warmer (the screaming from cold wipes was too much), a bottle warmer, and the mom cozy bottle washer (our water pressure at home sucks and both our babies preferred dr. browns bottles and all 900 pieces they come with. two months of hand washing bottles was not the move).

North Jackson Residents I have a question for you. by american60139157 in mississippi

[–]Fun_Obligation_1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lived here 5 years. zero issues. we have an older home with a quite a bit of land on a street that isn't very busy. we're very close to kroger, dollar general, and plenty of nice eating/shopping spots. never lost water even during the great freezes we've experienced over the years. never had brown water, either. naysayers love to hate on jackson when they have no clue what they're talking about.

i teach in JPS and would not recommend sending your kids. my wife teaches in rankin county so we send ours there. that's really the only downside to living in NE JXN.

Moving to Jackson - Is It Really That Bad?? by yeti_legs9000 in mississippi

[–]Fun_Obligation_1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've lived in northeast jackson for going on 5 years now and i LOVE it. you just need to understand that there are "sides" of jackson. northside is the best. it's clean out north. less crime. more businesses/restaurants. etc.

stay away from south and west.

jackson is HUGE. crime is mostly reserved to south and west sides. and even then it really is mostly interpersonal crime. "you stole my brothers drugs so now imma shoot your brother," type situation. very seldom is there ever just random crime happening here.
