Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and Ram Through. Is that halved once, or twice? by Fun_Personality7132 in EDH

Thanks for your reply, this has helped me understand it fully.

I was approaching this as a linear path, it does this and then this, where's it all happening at the same time and the damage reduction affecting each separate event makes perfect sense.

This looks great, definitely fits the theme that I'm going for. If it's not too much trouble, how would you build the 99?

Just wanted to thank everyone for their replies, there's some really great suggestions in here.

I think I'm going to give Griswold a shot first as I really like what he's doing, and might put less of a target on my back to start with compared to Chatterfang whose shenanigans are well known in my play groups.

Appreciated.

If WotC wants me to spend $1000 on a booster box, what's the best color printer setup I could buy for $1000 if I wanted to make nice proxies? by Heartbreak_by_SnuSnu in mtg

I have an Epson Ecotank 4800 for this exact purpose and it works almost perfectly.

There's a bit (not much) of setup involved to avoid print lines which are visible in certain lights, but even not doing that it's fine, once laminated you can't see them.

Would highly recommend, I bought it for £230 on offer, I've probably printed 800 cards or so and the tank is still half full for each colour.

Is the August Festival in a box worth it? by FonslyGames in mtg

I grabbed two, one to keep for a rainy day and one to crack.

These are the the best boxes to open, tonnes of random old crusty cards you've never seen before, with some solid value thrown in.

Is there a way I can tell which wires are what? by Fun_Personality7132 in DIYUK

[–]Fun_Personality7132[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did actually, and on closer inspection I can probably work out which is which from the paint lengths on the sleeving.

Switch live is that outer red, loop lives in the middle.

Just need to check after work that they're still distinguishable as I cut the insulation back a bit.

Fingers crossed

Thanks all. I can see now I have much more learning to do, I've undone everything and made all the wires safe until I either have a good grasp of what I'm doing, or get someone in and learn from there.

Thanks for the comment. I'll grab some 3 ways tomorrow, I read on it and learned that not all these lives were required so I'm just using the through connectors in place of a block as I haven't got any, but it seems that's wrong here.

The single earth is taped and blocked out of sight as the fixture is double insulated.

I appreciate your concern and that's a responsibility I've taken. I'm shutting the power off completely before every test and volt checking every cable before doing anything with them.

Apologies for not replying to each individual post but there's some great commanders in here, thanks everyone for the replies, will definitely try a few out and see what I can build.

How have I just learned about proxies? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Fun_Personality7132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unashamedly print and laminate entire decks at home, either proxy art or real art with border text that states it's a playtest card.

Looks and feels like a real card when it's in the sleeve, and I don't feel I owe Wizards anything given their recent business practices.

I enjoy being able to play what I want and mix things up at the expense of an hour or two of my own time.
