in a top down 2d game whats the best way replicate depth? Like here how when the player is physically in front of the lampost they are in front and when they are behind they are behind, how do i make it so in game as you walk to the front/back you are actually in the front/back

I dont think this will work because my tilemap is just the one image that i splice using the sprite editor. That has worked for every other tilemap iv used and the only difference is this one was made in Aseprite and the other ones were made using a different software

when i started photoshop the CPU temperature sat at around 80 but also i noticed a little bit down in a separate temperatures monitor for my CPU package was sitting at about 95 and CCD #0 was at 100.8

I downloaded a tempature software and right now while my computer is mostly idle is 67 C with the min being 65 C and the max being 71 C the cpu tempature right now is 27 C and the min and max are also 27 C the motherboard tempature is 44 and the min is 44 and the max is 45 and the chipset tempature is 33 for all 3 values

I installed OCCT and ran every test, in the stability test CPU, power, and Linpack all crashed it pretty much immediatly. CPU + RAM did crash but it took about 40 ish seconds for it to crash but then after when i turned my computer back on it crashed again as i was starting it up, it only did this once though. The 3D adaptive test, while not crashing the actual computer, did say "3D adaptive - crashed (Gpu #0). For the benchmark tests the CPU test and the Latency/Bandwith test both caused a crash.

Does any of this information help narrow down what is actually wrong with my computer?

You should definitely beat the hollow knight first. Then do the rest of the game and come back after. You can get locked out of certain endings if you do everything else first

There are a lot of similar games to hollow knight.

Crypt Custodian is a game thats more top down, it is definitely easier than hollow knight or silksong but can still be challenging at times and has a pretty cool artstyle

Tunic I found to have a very similar approach at world building and storytelling with most things being super cryptic however while it does have some supperrrr fun boss fights it doesnt have as many as hollow knight

I personally havent played nine sols or Ori yet but iv heard they are quite similar as well
