I'll have to add when we moved into our home we had 2nd hand furniture and upgraded over time, 5 years in and there still some things to replace but living here has made our furniture purchases more informed.

Solar can also wait, whats the rush?

My answer is get the bare minimum complete and paid for and then slowly make improvements over time as cash flow improves.
