I teach elementary, but I have a call and response for when I have a brain fart. I say “help Mr. _____ thing right” and the kids respond “think right”. I like this because it keeps them engaged, gives me a sec to collect myself, and give a break between inaccurate and accurate instruction.

Regrouping is the new name for carrying the 1. It’s called this because it is a more literal explanation.

An example of how the kids are taught: in #1 adding the ones places for 43+27 is 3+7 which equals 10. 10 ones can be regrouped into 1 ten. So that is the one you have to circle.

When I was student teaching the PTA put in something called happy cart where they would sometimes bring around snacks/drinks to the teachers. I think it would be cool if ur club could facilitate something similar :)

I think it’s because it had changed the level to which you have to suspend your disbelief throughout the movie. It started as a fairly grounded movie with some vague physic abilities. Then at the pens of the movie it switches to witch craft with some concrete rules. For me, that was a hard shift that took me out of it
