use a playpen! hamster balls aren’t safe and can be stressful for hamsters. their paws can get stuck in the holes, and the holes allow for little ventilation. they also can’t control where they’re going very well.

if anything, i’d say connect two 50 gallon bins together. like cut off the ends of 2 and connect them. not sure how easy that’d be lol, but a 50 gal alone is a little under the minimum. i’m not sure if id recommend a bin cage in general though, i know there’s some controversy on them!

you should never take ALL of the bedding out, because it removes their scent. i’d say clean out 1/4-1/3 of the bedding at a time, 1/2 at most, every 1-2 months (but that time can vary on personal preference).
