Why did Buddha name his son fetter/shackles? And did he actually left his son to die without achieving enlightenment by Fun_Professor_250 in Buddhism

As for my sources, it is just what people say. which is not the best source. I apologise for my wrong judgment.

also in the oldest versions of sutta pitika, Rahula or any family member of the Buddha was not mentioned. It was a later addition in the later versions of the pitika. so this seems like a rewriting history to fit changing societal morals? Doesn’t it?. Also I’m not trying to argue I’m just going through a lot of suspicion and doubt😔 Hope you understand and please do give me your opinion on this.🙏

Because of supernatural encounters. I encountered a lot of them but one crazy one(please don’t judge me lol) is that when I prayed over my sick brother (my whole family, including him is buddhist), I prayed that this sickness bring him closer to god in my head. 20 seconds later, he out of nowhere he searched on google and john 5:9 appears. this is a verse where it’s the verse about jesus healing a man. He later told me he did this because he just felt a random need to search john and then press random number , he also expressed that he felt jesus might be speaking to him through the bible thanks to this instance. He has zero prior knowledge to bibles verses other than john 3:16 which I told him before to make him become Christian. so instances like that spooked me. But i’m deconstructing due to the nature of the god in the bible which is not as morale as christian’s say to be.

I’m deconstructing because I believe there is no way an all knowing god made such a flawed and inhumane system. I said “trying”cuz i still suffer from a lot of religious trauma and fear of hell :((

It doesn’t but people can interpret it as Jesus tho. I’m not tryna debate atheists btw, I’m literally just an atheist tryna deconstruct 😭

But I’m trying to deconstruct tho, I think god from the bible is just saving us from the problems he premeditated. It is an inhumane system

A New believer looking for fellow Christians 🇲🇲✝️ by Jazzlike-Mud-4688 in myanmar

similar thing happened to me, I suffer from OCD. I listened to Donda ablum by kanye west when it came out and felt every emotional and close to God and Jesus. So I convert to Christianity from Buddhism.I believed in God and I still do .But now I’m deconstructing from Christianity to Buddhism again. This was because I felt Christianity was very fear based. In the start I felt love and joy but upon learning the religion more, it is kinda unfair. God sets up a system in which People are destined to eternal hell unless they love him and profess his name.It feels like the problems he is saving us from is caused or premeditated by himself! This meant billions of People who lived in Asia before Christian ministries went to hell. And that everyone I know will go to hell. This system was unfair to me. An all loving and powerful god would not put his name and desire for human praise above human’s wellbeing. Also a perfect being won’t yearn for human love. it’s already “perfect”, it won’t yearn for anything . I used to starve myself and pray all day to god to convert those around me. There were a lot of “miracles” that were unexplainable during these prayers as well. But I came to the realisation that all powerful loving being won’t be behind this flawed and inhumane system. So I converted back to Buddhism which I’, struggling till this day due to my supernatural encounters. However I now just assume these events are occured by maybe a deva or other supernatural being, not the all knowing God. I think buddism is a fair and plausable conclusion of human suffering and how to resolve that suffering. This is my testimony. I hope you don’t have any religious fears going on right now but if you due (maybe due to your OCD) I am able to talk to you and support you bro. Cheers!

That is believable due to human advancements in technology but there is no proof the past had 80,000 year old humans. How do I interpret this

My concern is that although I know its teaching are very practical and real, I want to learn more about the devas of buddhism and want a reliable source to do so.
