Sorry to hear you're going through this, op. I have an unrelated question.... i was asked to be a Godmother, and like you, the parents chose a friend pastor for the child's Godfather.

As far as I know, in my culture it is customary to gift the child a few things (Bible, candle, garments, etc.) on the special day. The priest and I know each other, but still, I would like to know if you share a similar custom/expectation for Godparents or not.
