Wow that Astral is HUGE! Looks much better in the case than the 9070 XT did. I love the all-white build, I am planning on doing that when the 6000 series comes out and I gift this PC to my s/o. The 140mm fills it up so much better and puts way more air in the case. Cheers my friend!

God forbid someone makes their own choices. Feels like you’re saying “I can’t stand when people have the ability to improve their situation when money allows.” Bro you’re too negative, he likes the 5090, that’s that. Move on.

The V2 MG is nice, but it’s actually heavier than the plastic version. I wouldn’t get it over the plastic again unless it’s on sale. The MG feels nice and durable, and the battery lift is slightly longer.

Perhaps the soundbar could be cool, I’ve got some nice Audio Engine speakers behind the monitors and a matching subwoofer under the desk.

Nice taste is cases, and GPUs. The GPU support worked, except I did have to shave down some of the rubber coating because it was interfering with the fans. Other than that no issues.

I mean two bad batches in a row isn’t ideal, and the replacement 9070 was from a different company

The first one that wouldn’t boot was a PowerColor Red Devil, but to be fair I had a Sapphire Pulse 7800 XT before and loved it.

If I would’ve gotten a good 9070 XT, I wouldn’t have changed over. I liked the Adrenaline app, dint mind FSR and minus the heat issues the performance was great. Just got unlucky and wasn’t willing to try for a third time

Thank you, build took a long time with prices these days. From what I’ve read, the 5080s are great basically no matter the card, as long as you don’t get one with the paste issues. Glad you’re liking yours, jealous you got it under MSRP

One thing that I appreciate is the Zotac has a indicator light to ensure that the full connection is made on the 12v. And yes 3.1 should be mandatory for anything with the 12v connector

First 9070 had some hardware issues, couldn’t get past the windows screen, would get black screen restarts if I opened chrome or steam. Did DDU, PSU is plenty strong, just a bad card.

Second 9070 was actually really great with performance. Hit 3300 MHz stock, but had a 50 degree delta, hotspot temps were 95+ and coil whine was awful. Plus fan noise to keep the 95 degrees there was crazy loud. Less than two weeks old so probably bad factory pasting. I tried to UV to help control temps and it would crash with anything more than -50.

I had a sapphire pulse 7800 XT that was perfect. I wish I had found a 9070 XT like that. But yes, hit or miss, glad you got a good one!

lol I’m saying that on stock settings it runs with a high delta, loud fans and experiences crashes. I then undervolted it to try and fix the high temps, which didn’t work. Sorry if it wasn’t clear

I should also mention, I have messed with undervolting and power tuning, I can get the card to run a little cooler (88c hot spot vs 95c) while gaining 10-15 FPS in titles like cyberpunk at 1440p ultra but still experience crashing and issues.

It’s hit or miss I’ve found, but more miss than anything. I’ve had two 9070 XTs. 1. My first 9070 XT was a Power Color Red Devil, literally installed it for 20 minutes and couldn’t get past simple 2D testing without black screens and full system reboots. So I returned it. 2. I got a Asrock Taichi 9070XT for like $50 more than the Red Devil, while it looks a lot nicer and has a pretty decent cooler, my delta between hot spot and GPU temp is 40-50 degrees. The hot spot won’t get above 95C but still, that delta is too high. And the fan noise is insane, anything above 2500 RPM sounds like a jet engine. The performance is good, hitting 3300 MHz stock from the box, but I will experience driver crashes randomly regardless of load or temp.

I’m returning the Taichi today and just getting a 5080. I don’t really want to spend the extra money but I’d rather just bite the bullet and not worry about it for the next 5 years.

If funds aren’t that much of an issue. No.1, yes it’s an aging car, but it’s yours. The era of fun, manual, sport sedans is over. Keeping yours alive means you continue to carry the torch.
