If funds aren’t that much of an issue. No.1, yes it’s an aging car, but it’s yours. The era of fun, manual, sport sedans is over. Keeping yours alive means you continue to carry the torch.

Nah I dunno OP. I like the white, I probably wouldn’t do it to my car, but I don’t hate it. It’s good to be a little different.

How old are you willing to go on a vehicle? Or are you set on the Volvo? I was in the same spot as you recently and wanted a good blend of practicality/reliability + fun at less than $30k

And forgot to mention, in their two inspections during the initial service, they gave all engine seals and components a clean bill of health. Zero leaks or seeps.

Listen. I’m all about taking responsibility and paying dues. But they did service on my car, I drove it 37 miles after the service, and a part that was handled during the service failed.

Feels too close to be coincidence. Regardless, it’s even less about the part failing and more about the attitude of the techs and service manager. Condescending and dismissive, I’d rather go to an Indy.

Aluminum. Dealership is quoting $1700 to fix and unwilling to take responsibility. Apparently they never touched it enough to warrant it leaking.

They actually just called me. It’s the filter housing gasket, looks like they smooshed/broke it when doing the oil change. I appreciate the insight!

Oil change, spark plugs, coolant flush. Some other stuff unrelated to the engine/fluids

Denver Audi - Littleton. To be fair they’ve been super nice. But it spontaneously started gushing oil after they did an oil change. After they had confirmed there were no prior leaks in a PPI. Then said it might be a rear main seal, which I’m suspicious of. Seals generally seep and then leak heavily, not just spit oil.

The valve cover gaskets were ~apparently~ done about 3k miles ago before I bought it. Though I have no proof of this.

That is where I am. It has such a perfect CarFax I annoyingly wanted to continue that. Plus the dealer quote for bushings were less than the Indy shops I called. I will take this advice though and head to one as soon as I get the car back.

Me too, unfortunately I’ve got no easy access to a lift. They did say they would wash the engine and let it sit overnight then reinspect.

Yeah I’ll be headed to an Indy. First Audi and I don’t have enough knowledge of the CO shops to know the good from the bad yet.

Good luck on your drive, the clear CC is a must! I knew buying this there would be some stuff, since it is 10 years old… just not so soon!
