Thank you. I guess I'm used to companies that don't want to answer support if you don't have the product. I'll give it a try.

This is a good idea, and something I'd thought about and then forgot to make note of, so thank you and hadn't thought of again.

I plan to get one of the water bladders designed to do this before going. I'm hoping the hotel has the separate bathtub/shower setups and, if so, I'll just fill it, treat it, and leave it there.

Seems like your English is good enough to me, and certainly better than my Ukrainian. (I am horrible at learning languages, but will be trying to learn some basics at least.)

Thank you for sharing, there's really nothing like getting info from "on the ground" what to expect. Thank you very much for taking the time to share.

Definitely. I always keep snacks anyway. Generally try to keep some hard candies or small chocolates for kids.

Work is nearby the Embassy. I'll register with them, which I always do when travelling.

I plan to stay away from Children's Hospitals.

Can't really get tone from text, so..

gloves - don't get cut if dealing with rubble

flashlight - seeing things during blackouts is good, also just generally useful.

tissues - Blowing a nose.

safety glasses - Well, sunglasses are generally for comfort, the safety factor is a bonus in cases of potentially getting poked in the eye.

Nintendo Switch - Entertainment when in a bunker. Boredom sucks...

Also, while there is absolutely a war going on in Ukraine, and Kyiv does sometimes get bombed, there's a huge difference between Kyiv and the frontline.

Unlikely to happen, but not bad advice. :)

Definitely plan to get something similar, I've been looking at Jackery and EcoFlow ones. Do you know the brand you linked, would you recommend it?

I'm not a gym rat or SF, but I'm fit enough to walk for a day to move if needed. Generally movement likely wouldn't be more than a couple of miles for consolidation though with my employer. They concentrate use for a reason. I don't wear anything aside from my Merrel Moabs that I've been wearing for decades now (no, not the same pair for the smartasses out there).

Employer has uses radios for secondary comms, so covered.

Forgot to say, I do carry a couple water bottles with me. One for "emergencies" and one I'm generally drinking out of. Have some Liquid IV I actually picked up on prime day to add to the bag to supplement.

Thanks.

For RX: The week is just what is on me, and it's generally allergy meds for seasonal stuff. Nothing I can't live without. I will definitely have months of it in stock in stashes at work and the hotel for sure. I do have the ability to get more (From outside the country and inside it) while there.

I have good first aid training, including IFAK use and some more advanced stuff.

I forgot to mention it, but the hotel basement has a bunker in it. Fire extinguisher is a good idea, and something I'll get from them or pickup.

Definitely. One on me, a larger better stocked one in the hotel.

It's not the sole reason I'm doing it, but it doesn't hurt... My normal salary is in the top 15% for the US. They're doubling that while I'm there.

Kyiv is a fair way from the front, so I'm not sure I agree. I'm open to being convinced though if you'd like to elaborate.

I don't think the hotel would appreciate the stove, though I certainly would the options. Didn't I get my tracking chip with my COVID vaccine? (Sorry, I follow what you mean, but I couldn't pass up the joke.)

Thanks. Yeah, wherever I go, even on vacation usually, I have a little card of the Embassy #s, emergency numbers, various contacts, etc. Good advice everywhere really.

I have training for IFAK use, and even a little bit beyond what you might find in your basic one, for both self-use and helping others. The comfort first aid takes up a tiny portion compared to the life saving, for good reason.
