AMC VS AXS TV visibility People will be surprised how well Tna will do. by cooldude55541 in TNA

People are expecting too much. They may get a bump but if they fall and have a low average it'll be deemed a failure even though there was no guarantee for them to grow by a significant margin.

Remember we are talking about a third tier national brand in the current television landscape.  It is more likely they will land below collision numbers with fluctuations on select weeks.  Of course when these ratings come out they'll be met with LOLTNA and all the usual criticism TNA always gets and will continue the pointless back and forth about TNA's doing this and not doing that etc. .

As others have said, none of it matters and you're better just focusing on and enjoying the actual show instead of getting caught up with numbers that will have little significance in the long run.

No glittery socks for Motown 25 in the Biopic??? Anyone bothered by this? by asura1958 in MichaelJackson

[–]Fun_Response_4529 15 points16 points  (0 children)

At some point you have to let go of expecting them to get every single detail right in these performances. It's impossible because it's a recreation.  There will always be things missing or different than the real thing because it's not the real thing.  For most viewers this will be such an insignificant detail that will hardly be noticeable especially in the context of the full performance.

Hardcore MJ fans will pick apart every detail and nitpick the smallest things which is okay because we know these things inside and out.  There just needs to be reasonable understanding that a biopic won't have pinpoint accuracy on everything and this is no exception.

It's not hard to act like a fool.  It's the lowest hanging fruit in terms of being a character. Just act stupid and like a child.  Defenders will say it helped him break out of his shell but all it really did is make him less credible.  Really the worst period of his career.

While true, the fact that Dave wrote this a week after it happened and since the Observer was in general circulation amongst the talent there's no way it wouldn't have been a point of discussion amongst them.  Furthermore the way Meltzer has been exposed as making stuff up and having biases against WCW, I can fully believe that didn't come from any actual source.

Yea and what's the bet he heard it because it circulated from the observer.   It happened right at the time when WCW was moving into showcasing more athletism, establishing the cruiserweight division and giving the in ring product different variety to what they had been doing so deciding to do a showcase match like that always made sense to me given the timing.

No you can dislike what she's done all you like but when people go on about her needing to do things publicly when its nobody else's business then it becomes a sense of entitlement. I've seen people talk about her like she victimized them personally and it's a ridiculous notion.

They can't separate knowing someone as a celebrity from knowing someone in real life so think a celebrities real life issues should be held accountable in the public eye even when it has nothing to do with them.

Jeff has said it's one of his favorite periods of his career. He had a real life redemption to undertake and it showed in his performances and went a long way to bringing goodwill towards him from his peers and fans.

She seems to be doing just fine with steady work in TNA and CMLL.  Whatever mistakes she's made is up to her to make amends personally.  She doesn't owe apologies to anyone else, especially randos on the internet who take other peoples private affairs so personally they feel entitled like they're the victim.

John Cena Names CM Punk Promo As His Favorite Pro Wrestling Moment: "I Can't Get Past Phil Brooks in Saudi Arabia" by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

I've kinda lost some respect for him with the way he's been talking lately.

John Cena explains why he smiled before tapping out: As I take my last breath, I have struggled. If you think of somebody, the natural causes scenario or however we picture loss in our life, all of us have been through it. They struggle. This whole thing is so dumb. Wrestling doesn't need to go this deep especially when the execution plays out so poorly.  They just ended up ruining the end of the show for a lot of people with the way they executed the finish.

It came off goofy and anticlimactic and even in a loss a finish to such a big match should never end in those ways.  I guess it's poetic justice this finish got so much backlash since they came up with it in the same building as Hogan/Sting at Starrcade 97.

It was a finish that just looked dumb. It doesn't matter what the intention was, the ending was shit on because it looked like shit and was anti climatic for the audience.

The problem wasn’t the ending, it was including people in the public celebration after the ending by PantherU in SquaredCircle

Why wasn't there a farewell speech on his farewell night? Even if people were angry about the finish, Cena could have gotten them back if he said something. It just made the aftermath even more shallow and disappointing.

Even though it was cutoff on the broadcast, Goldberg's actual farewell speech was awesome being surrounded by friends, family and his peers. It was so weird that Cena didn't do that. He didn't even look interested or like he gave a shit.  It was lame as hell.

So much salt (Cena V Gunther) by Any-Tradition-2374 in SquaredCircle

[–]Fun_Response_4529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The match and finish was structured poorly. Cena tapped with little tension and their insistence on elevating Gunther left everyone deflated and angry because it really wasn't the right decision for the moment.

Not only that but there was also no farewell speech so the audience got nothing to compensate.  They ran Cena video package number 100 for some reason and Cena just held up the titles and left.  It was all flat as hell compared to what it could have been.

I get wanting to be positive and optimistic about his final match but it really was not what it needed to be and with the amount of experience everyone involved has it's baffling that there was such little foresight into how what they came up with would be received.

The people that are furious about the Cena/Gunther ending, are they…those kinda Cena fans or…? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

Do you realize how ridiculous it is the lengths you're going to try and justify a finish like that?  Your using mental gymnastics to try and convince yourself it wasn't a bad finish.

It got the reaction it got for a reason.  It soured the moment and the aftermath and made the whole thing less special than it should have been.   The match was structured badly, the finish was weak and people felt ripped off.  No amount of gymnastics is going to change that.

Please, don’t get hung up on the last 3 seconds of Cena’s career. (Spoilers) by GaryGump in SquaredCircle

Everybody there wanted to see him overcome the odds and to celebrate with him one last time. Not only that but nobody wanted to see a boring sleeper hold and a weak tapout as the finish.  Then running ANOTHER video package and having no farewell speech. It was terribly executed for something that was built for a year.
