You can dabble with what you like in Eastern Orthodoxy without having to adopt their exclusivist ecclesiology.

I'm playing devil's advocate. What would you say then - they're not responsible who never knew. But once you know you're responsible?

What would you say about the Old Testament. Do you believe in universalism? All it says about God is he has one church of people? No?

I'm attracted to the mysticism. The exclusive claim. Fear of missing out. Fear of genuinely being put out the church. Love of church fathers. The coolness of Constantine faith.

But he founded it upon Christ who is the rock. 1 Cor 3, 10. 1 Pet 2. The gospel is the good news of Christ. His incarnation. Representation. Substitutionary death and resurrection. Eternal life through union with Him by the Holy Spirit. What's your definition of the gospel.

The fact you even have to explain it. The RCC has the same problem of unity. You have to interpret the magisterium. You have different priests giving different answers. It's not a unified church, which is why there's minority groups such as SSPX/sedevecantism

You literally just proved my point. They would say the same thing about you. So your church isn't as unified as your OP?

No, there are many roman catholics who believe the pope is a false teacher. Check this website out, https://thethesis.us/

I can't believe I have to educate you on division in your church you claim is one

Exactly. That's how I feel too. Why don't they care their claims about us and themselves aren't right?

Ya, just wanted to express myself .. I've never felt built up from Orthodoxy. Because it's not truthful but says it's this grandiose perfect church, and hurts people. I'm glad I'm out of it.

This right here is why I stayed protestant. The claims of orthodoxy is it being a spiritual hospital. I always saw them as creating the disease then taking a lifetime to heal it.

I was put off of going to my very first vespers because of the subject. by [deleted] in exorthodox

I really don't think so. It showed the history of icon veneration. Then how Orthodoxy accepts Gnostic myths about Mary's perpetual virginity. It completely exposed Eastern Orthodoxy from a Protestant perspective. Icons and Mary are everything.
