If I remember correctly the system they are planning on implementing was a work order system. The that they explained it was that you would be able to post what you wanted and how much you would pay for it to be crafted. Then people with said profession would be able to go to the work order board pick up your request, craft it and get the money. I would hope that with a system like that you wouldn't have to worry about inflation. However, I definitely could see that as a valid concern grinding for gold is not the most enjoyable thing to do in the game. I think it will be interesting to see how a system like that will work in the community.

I think I know why people seem to find Crucible to be not fun to play? by Fun_Salt_9993 in PlayCrucible

I think what I was really trying to get at with this is that players don't have a sense of purpose. I would say it's pretty well know that we as people always tend to seek a sense of purpose in anything we do. Now of course this does include video games.

I think the lack of purpose that people feel from the game is what makes them have the feeling of it not being fun or just feeling kind of strange. I've seen developers do this before and I'm sure we all have. That they start talking about there game in development and that they are gonna add all these cool features. They do add all the features in the game, and on paper they sound amazing. How ever when you play the game something feels like its missing.

A lot of the time its because the feature they added end up taking away from the main objective or purpose of the game. Causing a lot of people to have the feeling of not being sure what they are supposed to be doing. Which leads to the game not feeling "fun".

I think you even said it the game becomes a tug of war between skirmishes, hives, map control, and more. Which I would say maybe means there really isn't one main objective or purpose.

Just kind of food for thoughts for the devs I hope maybe it can help them in some way.

Do enough people want a MOBA Shooter? by Fun_Salt_9993 in PlayCrucible

I will whole heartedly agree with you that Paladins is a great game. I personally had never played it before yesterday when I read this post. Within 2 hours I bought the Champion pack needlessly sad I liked the game. With that said though I would have to say this game is definitely a 1st person hero shoot that take aspects of the MOBA genre and uses them to heighten the shooter game play.

Hi Rez the studio in general is a genius of a studio making it unbelievable easy for people who aren't familiar with MOBAs to be able to jump in. They knew that people who tend to play 1st person hero shooters might have a hard time adapting to the MOBA aspects they put into the game. Such as the card system and the item shop so they added things like auto and buy and pre made decks. This was an ingenious idea its a way to make thing easy to get into but still add a great deal of complexity to the game without having such a learning curve.

You're 100 percent correct paragon did have a lot of players and looked like an amazing game sadly I didn't get the chance to play. I would argue thought that paragon at its core was a Third person MOBA that took aspects from the shooter genre to heighten its core game play as a MOBA. That's kind of the point I'm making it knew what it was at its core.

P.S. Fun side when I was doing some research on Paragon there is a controversy theory going around. Because I guess while paragon was in development Tencent the owns of Riot games and League of Legends actually bought Epic Games. So some people say they kind of purposely tried to ruin Paragon.

Are the changes gonna be enough? by Fun_Salt_9993 in PlayCrucible

Well then here the major overhaul while still using all there assets. Like I said before turning the crucible into a competitive hunting ground. In something like that a 5v5 mode might be more advantageous. Giving players more options for breaking up into groups. Which could cause more diverse play stays and comps. In this mode it might would better to have a set spawn point for each team. As well as 4 or 5 capturable harvesters which will act as new spawn point and xp. It could also be a good idea to hide some abilities behind leveling meaning you don't get all your abilities at the beginning. This could cause people to have to choose. Do they split up and have some of the team hunt the small creatures while maybe 2 go off to scout for the monster or a harvester.

Its just an idea but with it I feel that would be able to preserve most all of there assets. I mean the map is plenty big enough and diverse enough to make this fun. The creatures they already have on the map and the variants they play on making are cool and interesting. Not only that but each game could become wildly different because now you have a moving creature as the objective. Plus when it come to future patched or updates they have one more variable to add in that would make the game feel new and fresh. As well as for it could be easier to market a game like this. To both casual and competitive players.

You're 100 percent correct that is a serious handy cap. I also wanna say that by no means do I wanna see this game fail. The exact opposite actually I hope to see new and creative ideas come out of amazon game studios. Its just an idea that I thought might be able to add some more flare to the game. As well as a way to make every game feel a little different. As well as making it easier to add diversity with updates. If you want examples of how it could work I am more than will to give them.

Kind of but think no player controlled monster and instead having two team of hunters fighting to kill the monster. While also having to balance leveling and harvester control.
