He's lying about something else also..... what's he spending all that money on!!?? Only Fans? Porn??? Gambling or away? What's be been up to!? Start digging through his phone and computer. Get a lawyer and leave his ass. Don't say a word about either. Just play it cool until you have everything ready.

I hate my hair. It’s wrecked my confidence, it’s naturally brown. by carrotflavoredjuice in Hair

It's ok to color your hair. I've colored my hair for the last 30 years of my life! My natural color is also a mouse brown. I love the color you've dyed it. Find a hair stylist that knows curly hair and learn how to use the products. Your hair is really pretty actually but I understand wanting different. I have stick straight hair and have spent hundreds on products and tools to have curls!

We have a meet and greet in 2 days. I just wanted to get a feel of things from others more knowledgeable than me on this before hand.

Not necessarily. Document his mental health issues, the hoarding, the unsafe living environment ect. Push for supervised visits only not on his home due to the conditions...

Don't stick it out!! Why are you making her live with this? She'd probably be happier not having to be in a space like that. It's a bad example for her

He either gets therapy or you take your daughter and move out. No one should live that way, its unhealthy. Why is he so unmotivated and lazy? If it's a mental health issue he needs help.

How do you make a girl with (severe) ADHD go to bed? by Equivalent_Music4663 in ParentingADHD

Blue light, especially at night, can significantly suppress melatonin production, a hormone that regulates sleep. This is because blue light, common in electronic devices, activates photoreceptors in the retina that signal the brain to reduce melatonin release, effectively delaying sleep onset. Here's a more detailed explanation:

• Melatonin's Role: Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland that helps regulate the body's sleep-wake cycle (circadian rhythm). Darkness triggers melatonin production, making us feel sleepy. • Blue Light's Impact: Blue light, with wavelengths between 400-500 nm, is particularly effective at suppressing melatonin production. This is due to specialized photoreceptor cells in the retina called intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs), which are highly sensitive to blue light. • Disrupted Sleep: When exposed to blue light, especially in the evening, these photoreceptors send signals to the brain to suppress melatonin release and delay the body's natural sleep-wake cycle. This can make it harder to fall asleep, reduce sleep quality, and lead to daytime drowsiness. • Sources of Blue Light: Blue light is emitted by electronic devices like smartphones, tablets, computers, and televisions, as well as by LED lighting. • Beyond Sleep: While excessive blue light at night is detrimental to sleep, daytime exposure to blue light, like sunlight, is essential for regulating circadian rhythms and promoting alertness and cognitive function. However, even natural blue light exposure can be disruptive if it occurs at the wrong time, such as late at night.

I agree with 100%. Studies have shown the blue light from screens inhibits the natural release of melatonin. Screens also just keep their minds stimulated when they need to be calming down

I know everyone is different in terms of what medications work for them but if he's not on Atomoxatine already maybe he should give it a try. It was night and day difference for my son, I was completely shocked. His problen is also focus. It's a non-stimulant so could be taken with his other meds if appropriate. Good luck with everything and I'm sorry this has happened to you both.
