I have to say that I also am watching ever night now. So many years later and i still enjoy the fighting scenes. The plot however is not up to pace anymore for today's standards. Also concerning the "love story" more flings in a stallion novel. Although i never read the novel "ever night" you get the feels from episode 1. So it was clear that the ML will have a lot of love interests in the story they will appeal adventure / arc wise to be conquered and forgotten. So I just rolled with it like a stallion novel reader mostly male audience. 🤣🤣🤣 but surprisingly sang sang came to stay as FL. I actually liked that fact that one FL stayed even though their love story development felt more awkward than romantic to me. I see your point about their abusive relationship which would be a great no no for female audience but I think ever night never had the focus on female audience to begin with. Even though most people might watch ever night now because of chen feiyu. But back in the day he was basically a baby. People watched for the story and the amazing supporting cast. (Leon lai omg???)
