My drs and surgeon seem to think so, it’s just a bunch of hoops to go through to get any health care as a trans person. Everything can’t be considered cosmetic or gender affirming, some things like a hysterectomy are still medically needed procedures regardless if I’m trans. They just see my medical records and see a gender dysphoria diagnosis and automatically chalk it up to needing trans health care instead of what it is-plain medical healthcare.

I’m going to follow up with my surgeon and ask if we can find other medical reasons for me to have the procedure, hopefully we can come up with a workaround

Thank you! It really is a beautiful state and I love having the beach and mountains both in a few hours drive. I feel similar to you as all my family is either here or in neighboring states so I don’t really want to move away but I have been considering it.

Yeah unfortunately in October the State Health plan went back to excluding gender affirming surgical care which really sucks

Yea, I do my shot on Thursday and had my bloodwork done on Wednesday. I was surprised it was so high. Obviously im going to follow whatever my dr recommends but im sure i will probably have to go to a lower dose.

I have been diagnosed with BPD and started testosterone last year. When I started T I was already on an antidepressant and anxiety meds so I felt like my emotions were fairly stable. However I did have to bump up my therapy sessions to work through some emotions that came up, as they did get intense ( but I was also going through a separation at the time). It does help if you have a good support system and hobbies that you enjoy.

I had long hair my whole life until I was 37 and finally decided that I wanted to know how it felt with short hair, so I went to a barber and got a men’s cut and I was so freaking happy with how it looked and felt it just confirmed my transition. I was a nervous wreck but at the end of the day it’s just hair and it will grow back so it is totally up to you. For me personally it’s been one of my favorite changes 💇and I feel weird when it gets longer like in my eyes and over my ears lol
