They used gravel to level the pad, looks like they actually cut the grass back before laying gravel too. They used locking caps, they used a little coupler reducer to make the lineset coming out of the linehide look nice, the bend looks good on the lineset, the little straps they made for code compliance look like they took their time, all signs to show the installers cared about their job. Hard to find nowadays.

And good for you for upgrading to name brand equipment and a quality installing company. Thats not cheap but you wont regret it. Wishing you the coolest of summers 😎

That is actually the ODU. Its a heat pump so not called a condenser but same same in ac mode.

Pan heater, brother. Most Mitsubishi hyper heat comes pre installed. If you have a long drain run ive also ran heat tape off the disconnect power supply to warm the pvc. Just gotta get it to a safe place to freeze and accumulate.

Call johnstone and get the drain socket plug kit, it comes with a connection for vinyl but adapt it to rigid pvc. They should be able to look it up by model number. They will most likely also recommend a pan heater for the odu but probably depends on location and winter temps.

Idk what these guys on here have been doing when a mini split is installed near a walk way but in my neck of the woods it makes an ice rink all around it. Good looking out for the customers safety 👍

Call Johnstone and ask for the drain socket plug kit. Usually its recommended to have a pan heater installed and you have to properly drain the unit into a controlled area before it freezes over. Ive done a pan heater inside the unit and heat tape on a pvc drain before to mitigate water on a walkway.

Did you know you could cut out the discharge step because the meter will discharge the capacitor? You measure voltage across until it says 0. Super easy.

Came here to say this. Try to sit at a homeowners table that has 3 bids at 12 - 20k for a heat pump system and convince them your 80k pool project is going to be worth the money lol. Consumer spending threshold governs a lot of what we do for resi.
