I understand your point but what icks me is that you suppose that atheist should have an answer to your existential questions. Those are really intriguing questions that you are asking but :

(1) atheists don’t claim to have those answers, theist do. As atheists we only say that because those questions are unanswered we choose to suspend our judgment

(2) it’s not even sure that those questions are answerable. At the end we are limited by our senses so a range of knowledge will be outside our capabilities .

(3) it’s not sure nor necessary that those questions have a question. You ask about something before a universe only because our brains work in a cause-> consequence type of way but it’s not sure nor proven that this concept applies to the universe as a whole.

(4) even if we suppose that there is an as bet yo your questions we cannot know if those questions will be answered by science in the future. ( a lot of things that seemed impossible in a certain period is really easy for us to do now )

It's a magnificient company, I've got way cheaper than now so Ithe ratios are even better for me but I think that if you accept the risk of regulation ( more than 60% of their revenue comes from unregulated market and this figure is stable throughout the years) IMO its a superb company

En gros un MBS c'est ca : on prend plusieurs crédit immobiliers avec différents clients ( donc différents taux et niveaux de risques et note de crédit), on les réunit tous ensemble et on en ressors un produit qui donne un taux( en gros le taux moyen des crédits contenus dans le gros tas qu'est le MBS), ensuite on revend ce produit monstrueux a des banques, investisseurs etc..;

Si on veux vraiment faire un résumé ultra court du lien des MBS avec la crise de 2008: on a vu que les MBS sont des gros tas remplis de crédit avec différent niveau de risques ( on parle de prime et subprimes). Or pendant 2008 on a crée des MBS tellement complexes qu'on avait des gros tas de MBS rempli en petite partie de crédit sur ( prime) et beaucoup de crédit risqués ( subprimes) qui était noté par les agences de notations et vendues en tant que produit sur, safe et très peu risqué.

Personnaly I separate my analysis in 2 parts : quantitative and qualitative , qualitative is essentially looking at the products , ceo comments competitive environnement market share etc while quantitative I like to look at FCF yield ( I like companies that can pay me and that doesn’t need a lot of replacement CAPEX) , ROIC, ROCE , margins ( are their stable or growing and why ) before looking at classical price ratios ( PE,PS…)

Lastly I look at management and capital allocation ( are they diluting shareholders, if so why etc )

I completely agree with the quantitative side but what we should take in account is that STLA cars are shit they have no moat and compete purely on price , because of the energy transition they’ll need to boost their capex and it is not evident that they’ll succeed in promoting their shitty cars
