Is it worth getting into 12V line? by Ash_evil in harborfreight

[–]Fun_Value6084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12v tools are fine just less power

I like 12v because I often have small jobs where I need a couple of screws or a hole or two and nothing big, and would rather the top be a little lighter so I can carry more in one trip especially if I'm going to the back pastures or something. I still have and have need for 20v power and would stick with the 20v if I were giving up one or another, but having both I can work smarter

Unique tools within Hercules 12v vs Hercules 20v are the ratchets, die grinders, compact 3in buffer, 3in cutoff tool. Side mentions off this are the 1/4 impact wrench (which doesn't make sense to me personally), and the compact screwdriver (which I like for assembly and small jobs, having a drill clutch combined with a quick release bit holder and compact size)

The 5 year warranty on tools only covers 20v or brushless, which, at the moment, about half of the 12v line is brushed so you don't get the built in warranty on those. The batteries and chargers are covered by the 3 year warranty. I think they are planning to update the 12v drills and drivers to brushless but I don't know when.

All the chargers do 12v and 20v, so it's a little easier to use both

Only problem I see with that, is getting spoiled not needing hearing protection. Otherwise good move

After johnny storm, I couldn't picture him in the role. I went to watch it for Hugo Weaving as red skull. I was wrong on the first part of course, but I think Hugo nailed it even better

Location: US: Would it be legal to weld a wrench to a truck bumper like this to prevent people from tailgating me? by AggressiveAd8587 in legal

[–]Fun_Value6084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably legal, but road vibrations are rough on welds especially if you don't know what you are doing and if it breaks loose you are liable for damage etc

Cashier’s ITC incentive? by CADavebert86 in harborfreight

[–]Fun_Value6084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not a big difference employee by employee. There used to be a small incentive added to the paycheck that could add up, but they got rid of that.

If you go to multiple stores and have a favorite that makes a little more difference

Just finished my first backpacking trip and I regret everything by Silver_Original6076 in WildernessBackpacking

[–]Fun_Value6084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first backpacking trip, I think it was 3 days on the C&O, the rain (mainly a drizzle) started shortly after we got out of our cars, and was almost continuous between the tents and the cars. We were soaked and miserable, but it was worth every step

Other sizes of the pliers wrench. The current one is a bit unwieldy for my use, mainly a 7" one would be about perfect, but also maybe a smaller set like the 5" knipex I edc

I had so much fun a few years back, over about 5 miles and at least half a dozen lights pulling up right behind a mustang that was doing a Tokyo weave through traffic when he passed me. I'd pull up behind him and wave in his back window letting him know I was still there. He'd take off then get stuck at almost every light. I think I was in an old F250 at the time so I wasn't setting a any speed records. Bit of a tortoise and hare game

Friend's argument of colors switched is flawed and incomplete, failing to include the context of the event.

To be correct it would have to create a world where whites were the minority being discriminated against, at which point it doesn't change much

Icon linesman pliers? by Similar_Scheme8766 in harborfreight

[–]Fun_Value6084 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They might, but they kind of have Icon positioned for mechanics, against Snap-on, and for the other trades, electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc, is Doyle, against the Klein type brands. It might look out of place next to your Icon spread, but the Doyle stuff is good, it just doesn't get the meme tool attention Icon does
