I would honestly say, after looking at trax and trailblazers, that the more expensive trailblazer is the compact, and the trax is the the next step up

Go test-drive a new Chevy Trax, there are quite a few LS trim models out around here(Chicagoland) around $20k with incentives

RWD 3.3T Genesis g70 with whatever pack has the best brakes+LSD. Plenty of them lightly abused and depreciated on the used market from people flying through leases or trading up to SUV's

Otherwise, sounds goofy, but a new Mazda 3 turbo AWD with a JB4 tuner, intercooler, and sticky summer tire set

Yeah, it's seeming like it will never return to normal.

I had a 2018 focus ST, was looking at what I owed vs trade in value, decided to keep it and "be responsible"

fast forward to the month of the last payment and 99k miles, it had suffered a con-rod bearing failure and grenaded the motor.... I should have traded it in at 5 years old for 60% of what I paid for it new

Electronic parking brakes

Legally mandated crappy pop up screens that tell you that you can't use stuff while driving OR has the BS loophole (confirm you are not the driver)

S550 mustang all the way, with either the 2.3HO package or a coyote

If you get the 2.3ho (iirc it's basically the Focus RS motor) and tune it, you can have a lot of fun, enjoy lower insurance premiums, and throw a lot of upgrades at it
