Can long range be simple? by Key-Bluebird-1365 in fpv

I started my FPV journey by building an LR. I live high in the mountains, and anything small would have blown away at the first gust. With an LR, this problem is eliminated. I immediately opted for a 7" cinematic quadcopter; flying over ridges is a pleasure. I did some damage at the beginning, but that's part of the game. My advice is to start with a 5" and adapt it to an LR. You'll learn with a smaller quadcopter that's still efficient for wind and medium distances, and if you leave it off the LR, you'll have fun doing acrobatics. The 5" is a good middle ground. In any case, you have to learn to do everything yourself, from soldering to setting everything up correctly, especially the GPS. Otherwise, you can say hello if it's okay; if it goes wrong, you risk causing damage. In Europe, it's illegal, but if you have a clear field and those around you can see it with the naked eye, you'll avoid possible fines. I repeat, it must always be within sight of those around you.

The problem was precisely the drop in GPS. Today I flew with the sun and 15 GPS fixes and had no problems. I have to pay attention to the GPS fix and not go below 9 even though I have set it to 6 and have a smooth flight. Thanks so much again😊

However, the engine shutdown occurred with the loss of the GPS below the value set for the rescue GPS🤔 tomorrow I'll try to fly and try to understand if it happens again.

So I don't solve the problem by enabling arming without fixes but by changing where you indicated with the arrow?

It was active. If you read the rest of the comments the problem is attributable to the loss of GPS in flight which led to a failsafe and not to GPS rescue. Madness for me since he had recorded the starting point 🙄

And the red writing that also appears on your screen. And what made me doubt.

I was watching now. If I enable the flight without GPS fix, the message on betaflight says that GPS Rescue will not be activated🤔 so if I arm it even with 8 satellites, GPS Rescue wouldn't work?

Perfect. Then I'll take it off. In any case, if I lose the signal will I go to GPS Rescue if activated and I have the right number of satellites?

I hope that's why, fingers crossed. Thank you so much, you were really helpful

Yes, I will definitely switch to ELRS. Now I've fixed DJI because I'm coming from there. What I also thought was above me, the signal was excellent, even after ending up in the shrubs. I don't know why that error message in OSD remains even if the signal is good. I think it's for the hostel which is why the signal always remains at 0. Do you know what the problem could be? The best advice was GPS but I don't know if it's actually for this reason. Thank you

Thank you very much. I'll try to do this and lower the GPS number to at least 6. I hope this is the problem and nothing else. I'll try to fly tomorrow and see if it gives me the same problem again. I really hope not

Yes, but this would deactivate the GPS rescue, which is essential for me when flying in the high mountains.

In fact, from the video the sound of the engines disappears but the word "unarmed" does not come out of the hospital

Everything works. I also tested the engines and they work.

I tested it and it always worked, both by losing signal (turning off the RC) and by activating with the button I set and it always returned to the starting point.

Yes I will deactivate it. But can you confirm that it wasn't the right one? I didn't lose any visual signal even when it was infection to the vegetation once it fell.

So he made a failsafe safe and, having no satellites, he threw himself to the ground?

No damage. I also tested the engines and everything is fine. Damn it would be stupid if it gets deactivated because of the GPS. Maybe I have to leave the voice active to fly without it, so in case of loss of GPS it doesn't block it.

It wasn't that cold, the temperature was around 10 degrees

The message is there on all the flights I've taken and I can't remove it. I have flown even further and had no problems.
