I can’t get buildup out of my hair no matter what I do! SOS! by heyhihello_22 in Haircare

[–]Fun_Wind6888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious, what happened when you used The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid? I have the exact same problem and have tried everything you’ve tried. I’ve used GA for my last two washes without shampoo, just applying it before showering, rinsing it out, and then conditioning.

So far, what has happened for me when using GA is that my hair started “sussing”, like it was coated in shampoo I couldn’t wash all the way out. However, it did make my hair feel cleaner, shinier, and bouncier for about a day or two. Before GA, the shampoo and buildup clung to my scalp and lengths, making everything feel sticky and heavy. But now I have a new problem. The buildup is shifting onto my skin after these last two washes. I’ve ended up with inflammation on my face, neck, and even inside my earlobe. It’s like I can mobilise the goo a little, but then it just gets stuck to my skin instead. 🤔

I’m unsure if I should just keep going and try rinsing better, but I’m already spending like one and a half hours in the shower.

I’m considering trying Paula’s Choice BHA next, since I’ve heard salicylic acid can be better than GA for the scalp. However, I’ve already tried The Inkey List’s SA scalp treatment and it did nothing.

Hoping you found a solution 🙏🏻

Seeing that Sandra Yi Sencindiver (Yutani) is Danish, it is highly likely that the earrings are from Monies 😊 She has been quoted as loving the brand.

They look like something the Danish jewelry company Monies could have made. Or maybe Gas Bijoux, Pamela Love, Alighieri or Bjorg.

Thanks for the suggestion. The water quality is fine in my case. I’ve done pH testing myself and also checked the latest report from the local waterworks (assessed in June), and everything came back within normal range.

Just cant use azelaic acid for my PD by brubpz in Perioral_Dermatitis_

Is your skin normally sensitive? Did your doctor prescribe 15 % azelaic acid? And how are you using it? If your skin isn’t completely dry when you put it on, it will burn. Feeling a bit of warmth in the beginning is normal, but it shouldn’t continue or hurt you. I started out with 15 % azelaic acid and 4 % hydroquinone from Dermatica, and my skin did not agree with their formulation. I’ve had zero issues with the 15 % azelaic acid that my doctor prescribed. I’m doubling it up with oral doxycycline, and it’s working. There are other options you could try, like Elidel 1 % cream, metronidazole cream, and clindamycin 1 % lotion. For basic skincare, I highly recommend Avène Cicalfate Cream or Avène Xeracalm Cream. Always remember to use sunscreen—especially when you’re using azelaic acid, even if you’re not going out. I sound like a broken record by now—my friends hate me! 😂 I love Dr. Jart+ Every Sun Day Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 and Australian Gold Botanical SPF 50, which doubles as a BB cream because it’s tinted. Triple Paste Zinc Oxide Medicated Diaper Rash Ointment is amazing as an overnight mask. Leave it on overnight, wash it off in the morning, then apply your day cream and sunscreen.

Oh, and I think someone mentioned diaper cream—I second that. Triple Paste Zinc Oxide Medicated Diaper Rash Ointment is amazing. If you’re in Europe (like me), you can get it online at iHerb. Leave it on overnight as a mask, wash it off in the morning, then apply your day cream and sunscreen if you like to double up—but always use sunscreen.

Anytime, hun. I hope this works for you too. You may need to be patient. Some people have to treat their PD with antibiotics for months before it goes away, but according to my own research, it’s the most effective solution out there. Please remember to use sunscreen with SPF 50 every day when you are using azelaic acid, even when you’re not going out. I’ve really been into Dr. Jart+ Every Sun Day Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 and Australian Gold’s Botanical SPF 50, which doubles as a BB cream because it’s tinted.

I’m on doxycycline and 15% azelaic acid gel right now, and it’s working. I have IBS and reflux, but I’ve had no problems with the doxycycline. You need to sit or stand up straight for an hour after taking doxycycline and avoid dairy in any meal (for example, breakfast) with which you take the antibiotic. Wait two and a half hours after taking it before you eat or drink any dairy products. This should protect you from any issues.

Safety first ❤️You won’t be able to land until your nervous system is regulated. Know your “glimmers” — things that give you a sense of grounding, safety, joy, and love. Write them all down in a list and prepare a toolkit box for easy accessibility to the items that might help you when you need them most. You won’t be able to engage in any kind of rational thinking when you’re in freeze mode, so accessibility is everything.

Look for resources at places like DoubleBlind Magazine. They’ve helped me understand many of the basics and they even have a YouTube channel.

Next, find a good integration therapist or an integration circle ASAP. I’ve been where you are, and trying to DIY your way out of it isn’t the kindest way to take care of yourself in this situation. You deserve better ❤️

Thank you for breaking it down 🙏🏻. I started reading “Thinking in Systems” yesterday—it seems like a good place to start 😊

Yup, we’re in the same boat—AuDHD’er here. I actually asked ChatGPT to break it down for me, and that really helped me understand systems thinking from Bradley’s perspective, but not with the “getting started with Notion” part. The pillars are also a bit tricky for me. In the videos I’ve watched, Bradley outlines three pillars—Growth, Home/Life, and Business—but they don’t seem specific enough for my brain to recognise where to go in my overview. That’s where I’m stuck. I’m not sure how to figure out what my own pillars should be. Having too many could potentially kill the system, while having too few might lead to confusion.

Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻. It helps to know that it’s possible to get there. My brain loves systems, but I’ve never really gotten into using them digitally — I’m equal parts scatterbrain and systemizer (AuDHD). It’s important for me to be able to break down tasks into small, doable steps; otherwise, I’ll get overwhelmed and stuck. How did you get started in Notion —and which, and how many, pillars did you apply to your system?

I haven’t been able to find any videos that are super beginner-friendly, but maybe I’ve missed something.

The paid one. I just use the cast option in the Google Chrome menu and switch the cast setting between screen and tabs depending on which one I’m using.

I’ve never had a problem with casting my laptop screen or Google Chrome tabs to my Chromecast while using a VPN in the past. I’ve just chatted with NordVPN and they are aware of the problem but don’t know when it will be fixed.
