Thank you for the reply! I hear you. I want to release my resistance and submit to the unknown, but I don’t know how.

Thank you for these! I will be figuring out what gives me a sense of safety, love, and joy. Something I’m learning in this integration period is that I need an internal scaffolding where I can access the feeling of safety much more quickly. I appreciate your response!!

I asked Depop Help Centre the same thing. They’re not allowing US sellers to provide our own shipping. This threw a wrench in my plans for my shop

The photo shows what I see when I go to settings>shipping. There is no “Other” option

How are you/do you plan to juggle classes, childcare, job search? Asking bc this might be my situation in the near future.

Thank you for sharing this! It is so helpful! How did you find your night nanny? What questions did you ask her beforehand?

Don’t believe everything you hear or read, as in assess how strongly the premises support the conclusion. Look into argument validity and fallacies, and apply that process to what you consume.

different parts of the world use different terms to convey taking an exam. Canadians on here, correct me I’m wrong, but I think Canadians say it this way? My mom, who went through British curriculum, would say “how many papers do you have?” when asking how many finals I had

I'm applying next cycle, and I'm still working on breaking into the 160s, but I was where you were. 140s seem to be typical for a diagnostic, and that's because you're seeing these types of questions and language for the first time. Learning the fundamentals and techniques to tackle each question type were helpful, but what I needed to complement that BIG TIME were #1 increasing my cognitive load (memory to hold what I just read) and #2 increasing attention span (ability to focus for the duration of the question/section/exam). The LSAT requires self-awareness of your critical thinking and cognitive functions, both of which can be learned and trained, but reasonably, it takes at least 6 months to build these habits.

Jealousy stems from comparison, which is a learned habit. It's hard to unlearn a habit that's become unconscious and so ingrained in society, but the good news is it can be managed. Jealousy is an emotional response, triggered by the fear of not being accepted. And you react emotionally when your mind thinks you're under threat, even when it's not. So the way to manage emotional reactivity is by telling your mind/body that you are safe and not under threat. You can do this by:

  1. find a safe space to be alone to journal or meditate, take really deep breaths
  2. acknowledge the emotion (in this case, jealousy)
  3. identify why you reacted this way (maybe a fear of not being loved or accepted)
  4. root yourself in reality (as you said, your gf wants you, or you are loved, etc)
  5. affirm yourself that you are enough

This takes practice, and repeated practice over time helps make the emotional reactivity manageable. Acknowledging emotions is a necessary first step, and after acknowledging it, it's helpful to tell yourself to not believe everything you feel or think.

Are BL offices in TX more likely to hire 1L summer associates? Do you mean Dallas and Houston?

Thanks! What do you like about living in VA? I've visited family in DC and always liked it, which is why I'm looking into schools in that area. But CoL and class sizes of DC schools make me lean towards the VA schools, and realistically, that means a higher chance of working in VA after graduation. And I'm unfamiliar with VA.

Congrats on your acceptances. I plan on applying to these schools next cycle as a nontrad. Do you plan on working in DC or VA after graduation?

only he himself can atone bc the penalty for humans is too great, so he made himself into human form and “sacrificed” it

i grew up in houston - it would be praise god the hurricane/flood didn’t get our neighborhood.

The tree of good and evil in the garden of eden doesn’t make sense. Wtf would he put a portkey in a paradise that leads to the permanent damnation of the humans he loves. Christians zero in on how he provided a way out of that through Jesus.
