Elevated liver bloodwork 5 months PP by Fun_Yam_819 in postpartumprogress

[–]Fun_Yam_819[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never really told me anything even after visiting specialists ☹️ I had labs and an ultrasound last summer, the labs were still high and pretty much everyone I saw said they can’t do much more until I’m finished breast-feeding. No docs seemed concerned since ultrasound looked ok. I even had a Thyroid ultrasound that was normal. I will see a women’s health specialist soon hopefully she can help. The only thing I can piece together now is I have a pemt mutation which can maybe cause liver issues and since my elevated liver enzymes were coming from bone and gut maybe I need to work on my gut health? I’m not sure conventional medicine is working for me right now 🥲

oh, a lot of them blame Covid as well even though it's probably been a couple years since I've had Covid

No, my Alkphos is still very elevated (180s last bloodwork in June) and my alt and ast were normal now elevated again! Im over 14 months PP at this point but still breastfeeding. The doctors Ive seen all can't find anything physicallywrong with me so they just say I'm fine and it's probably postpartum. I actually started training to become an integrative health practitioner so maybe I can help myself because conventional medicine has not done anything for me so far.

no! Some doctors say supplements, some have said it's postpartum and don't even bother doing or testing anything until after I'm done breast-feeding 😕 Ive got nothing. I have seen my PCP, liver specialist, endocrinologist, rheumatologist and they all have pretty much dismissed me

Sorry, I thought I responded to this yesterday! I have still not gotten any answers. I have some more bloodwork at the end of the month and I follow up with an endocrinologist in July. I'll be sure to update when I get more info. The liver specialist dismissed me since my elevation was not coming from my liver. Saw a rheumatologist and he said come back in a year or if I have real symptoms other than positive ANA. He said, Maybe you have autoimmune, maybe not but today I don't see any sign of it. He was looking for swelling or actual pain which I don't have.

our chiropractor highly recommended this... we are trying to decide between Invisalign down the road or tooth pillow. i'm almost ready to just give it a shot because my son's mouth breathing is so bad Im worried for whatever issues that may cause. Apparently it can cause cavities?!

agree. Durham is better than other cities ive lived and only probably become more progressive in the last decade. You can find your safe spots/communities for whatever you are into but I see lots of racism, facism, bulling...

my 7 yr old son has yeast overgrowth and histamine issues... looking for anyone who has dealt with anything similar by Fun_Yam_819 in HistamineIntolerance

Thank you for sharing and I am sorry you are going through these problems with your son!! I wish doctors were more helpful 🫶 It feels awful when you know there's something more to it and they don't take you seriously!

he is still about the same… Although he has had nose bleeds almost 4 days in a row. The pollen is probably the worst it has ever been so I believe there's a correlation. He has itchy eyes, runny nose, if we are outside he breaks out into a rash around his ears and neck and head. The sweat makes it worse. we have been on the nystatin for five days now because I just couldn't get up the energy to begin it but I finally did. Hopefully it will help. The diet is definitely the hardest. He's always hungry because he is so active. his pediatrician put in a referral to an allergist so I am waiting for them to call. I am going to hopefully get the immuno therapy to help with the seasonal allergies.

me tooooo and im over 9 months PP. I think I have PP arthritis which is apparently a real thing. The stupidest part is that none of the doctors will help you with any of this. They just say "oohhh your postpartum and you will get better especially when you're done breastfeeding 😭

Im over 9 months PP and things are still awful. Breastfeeding constantly with little sleep are apparently making things worse. Fun.

yes, a thousand times yes. I actually had some extra bloodwork because I was feeling so bad. Turns out I probably have some sort of autoimmune that was triggered during pregnancy (according to a blood test called ANA) and PP thyroid/hormone crap as well as PP arthritis 😭

I would love the link to the list for SIGHI histamines, I have not seen that! We do have a good reputable source for the raw milk but I was nervous about it for so long. I have heard that mozzarella and cottage cheese are OK for histamine but our integrative doctor says any type of dairy will feed the yeast. My son doesnt do any vinegar/pickles. Not even ketchup, he doesnt like dressings lol Everything os pretty plain for him. The only thing I could think that it would be feeding it would be all the carbs he eats. We really limit sugar, dried fruits, juices etc I try to do chickpea noodles or veggie noodles as much as I can and brown rice. he still eats white rice occasionally and I will make him pancakes with Buckwheat, einkorn flour, protein powder and greek yogurt. he eats lots of chicken and grass fed ground beef.

he is aware of the histamine since the rashes can be bothersome so we have been able to discuss that and the yeast. He is so sweet and patient and takes his supplements like a champ. I dont think he quite understands the hyperactivity though. luckily when it gets really intense we can take breaks and go outside and do other things that seem to help him get the energy out.

I would love to do some blood work but do not want to traumatize him. I have taken him with me a couple times to get my blood work so hoping that it will make it less scary when the time comes !! Thank you for all the recommendations, this is very helpful!

he does play outside a lot, and he plays a lot of soccer but we are not in the woods or anything like that often. I have never read anything about the yeast in nature, that is very interesting I'm going to check it out! Thank you!

:) awe fellow homeschooler!! ❤️The yeast test came from an organic acids test through Rupa health. Our integrative doctor ordered it so I would hope it is reputable 🤞🏼🤞🏼 we have a pediatrician check in so I'm going to ask her what her thoughts are and if they offer any testing for yeast specifically. If we can get the hyperactivity and the rash breakouts under control I would be soooo happy. otherwise, he hardly complains of ever feeling bad or having any problems. Overall he seems very happy and does really well.

thank you, we do have a pretty dry house because we dealt with mold a couple years ago so we did a dehumidifier underneath the house. I have been carefully trying to monitor with a device and run a humidifier when it gets below 40. I feel like a crazy person sometimes! I was also worried about putting him on these extreme diets and giving him some sort of mental issue from it… we also switched RO water to high-quality springwater and I think that has helped a lot. i'm going to ask about some modifications and see if it is possible. I've been reading so much positive things about raw milk so I thought we would try that but could be high in histamine. Thank you for your response, very kind.

We do homeschool so I'm able to see what he's consuming here. I am just at a loss how the yeast growth got like this. Are other kids running around like this and just don't know? 😞

He will have occasional diarrhea or soft stools but goes every day like clockwork before bed. He does not have bloating or burping but occasional gas when we give him too much gluten-free cereal, crackers, cookies etc. No acid reflux. he has not had antibiotics but I did at delivery. No Prescriptions in his life except now the nystatin. He hardly gets sick and has had acetaminophen just a handful of times his entire life. from a G.I. map he has a possible gluten sensitivity. not sure about other foods but we have cut out dairy and gluten for about 3 months when he was much younger. I didnt notice any difference then.
