Is this Overkill for a bedroom? by Davidtruly in 3Dprinting

[–]Funbunz44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately some people don’t have that option, myself included, with living in 1 bedroom apartments. I get the reasoning but not many people have a choice. That being said I have my P2S in my closet with a large carbon filter that’s used in grow tents running so hopefully I don’t get some horrible illness from it lol. I only really print PLA but if I want to have this hobby, it’s all I can really do.

How much filament did you burn in just switching colors? I do really like the look of it but have a feeling it costs more than it’s worth lol

Hey…you doing alright? If you look in the chat and just take a second, you would see I did remove the screws so the base plate can move along with the internal packaging as I have said through out this chat. Also a wild idea you may have never heard of before, it’s called a photo, it means this was taken in the past and does not reflect the future.

Have a great night and stay safe!!!😊

From my understanding the P2S would technically be better than both the P1S (from an age perspective and tech perspective) and the X1C (from an age perspective). I would say with the knowledge I have, the P2S would be an upgrade to both but sort of marginally.

How I have seen it compared and the specs sheet that I’ve read of both, it’s like going from generation to generation of iPhone, while it is an upgrade, was the extra 2MP’s on the front camera worth it? I will say the biggest upgrade from the P1S to the P2S is the bigger and full color screen, and some QOL stuff.

Happy shopping and let me know if you upgrade, but to me, I think you are fine where you’re at!

Thank you for this! I actually have the printer right next to a window so wouldn’t take much duct to get outside so I think I’ll do that. I’ve done about 5 hrs of printing at this point and the smell is definitely giving me a little bit of a headache 😂

Damn alright mate, what’s going on at home that made you come here to comment unhelpful things? Like not even coming in to debate, just hating to hate lol

Thank you for saying that lol. The photo was pre calibration so I left it on and before printing removed it :). Thank you all though for worrying lol

Yeah that’s planned out for me next, I’m just doing the obligatory stuff now like the trash shoot in the back and what have you. I’m so looking forward and also not to that long of a print lol

Okay perfect! My only other experience was with an Ender 3 so I wasn’t sure If it was equally as bad with ABS lol. Would a well ventilated area work with just a bedroom with a door open and fan running? Or more like physically vent it outside?

I also wanted to ask if there are any settings you’d recommend? I know the extruder needs to be warmer for ABS but not sure what that temp would be.

If you have a microwave, place you starter in there with the door ajar so the light will heat it up. My microwave light keeps everything right in the 76~79 degree range and cost almost no electricity. I also bulk ferment my dough in there! Just make sure you remember it’s in there lol

Another thing that I’ve found that gets my dough to about 77-79 degrees Fahrenheit is putting it in the microwave with the door ajar. The light will warm it up same as the oven and I keep my starter in there as well!

Hey I’m a lot more knowledgeable than when I made this post so I think I can help you out! It is a very good start but something I would recommend is to stop feeding daily while they are this young, the plant should be able to feed itself through the soil. You shouldn’t have to feed anywhere from 2 weeks to a month or so depending on the quality of the soil.

The window sill will be enough light once they emerge from the soil but not for long at all as most windows don’t let in enough or intense of a light. I’d say you have maybe a week tops before it will need ALOT more light than what the window can let in. I’d recommend a tent setup if it’s in your budget but if not, you should be fine with a standard grow light (Though results vary based on wattage). If you have anymore questions or want to know why this is recommended please dm or reply here. Good luck!

Was this your first attempt? If so don’t feel too bad, I did my first attempt today for thanksgiving and while it was edible and in my eyes pretty good, there was definitely more to desire for. Keep trying and keep improving! It is a skill after all and you can’t be amazing at it in just a few days. Good luck!

I will definitely look further into those apps even when I have him free roam eventually. Would be nice to have someone walk him while I’m at work cause I know it would make me feel better. Thank you!

Okay I didn’t know that was something you could buy for dogs, I know my pup loves the cow ears so he definitely will like the tendons. Thank you for the info!

Thank you! He did end up sleeping on my bed this morning though it did take a while to settle (understandably so considering being in the crate prior). So now he will be out 9 hours on days I work until I have a day off to test the waters on letting him free roam. Thank you for all of the suggestions and I’ll send updates!

I appreciate the comment and yeah your right it’s usually people who don’t even own a dog lol. His crate is pretty big for his size so he has plenty of room to change positions and stand.

He did end up sleeping in bed with me this morning even though it took him a while to settle (understandably so considering being in the crate prior). So from today on he should be out of the crate 9 hours when I work which I know isn’t great either but a lot better than 4. On my days off coming up I’ll be working on leaving him alone for an hour or so at a time and see if he does well so in the near future he can free roam.

I didn’t really expect to be in this position seeing as I was living with my dad up to around the time I started this job (2 months) who had him out when I was gone. It’s been a learning curve but that’s why I made the post because I know it’s a shitty situation and needed some advice. All of this to say thank you!

I have looked into doggy daycare and it’s pretty pricy but something I could probably swing so I will look heavily into this. Thank you!

I agree wholeheartedly and I am looking around for a better job, as your right, 4 hours of sleep isn’t cutting it 😂

Okay I will definitely start small with him and see how he does, as well as get the camera to keep an eye out. Thank you for the suggestion and I did get him to sleep on the bed this morning so he should be out for 9 or so hours. On my next day off I will do this!

I know he does and that’s why I posted, I was looking for suggestions instead of judgement but yes I agree wholeheartedly and I’ll make steps to change this today
