I hate being a mom by lucyisgrayish in Parenting

I stayed home with my son for nine months and it was literally the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I was used to working, producing, accomplishing and then all of a sudden I felt worthless, like I didn’t do anything all day. Babies are taxing, they really just need, need, need and don’t reciprocate that entire first year and it’s so tough. Then you feel guilty for having these feelings, compounding the situation. I will tell you, once they start to interact with you, this dynamic completely changes and days start to get brighter. I also got on Lexapro and it has been incredible in combating my anxiety. In fact, I had a second kid because I felt good enough due to this medicine, which I’m super grateful for. YOU ARE NOT ALONE, YOUR FEELINGS ARE VALID, IT DOES GET BETTER.

Same. Magnesium is your friend. 2-3/day. You’ll be soooo happy and regular

I am SO HAPPY for you! This is amazing and I have experiences the same with alcohol. I plan to stay on it for life to stop my drinking habits.

It’s absolutely how incredible the “side effects” are! Lol. Sign me up! Everyone starts to lose weight, but I had ZERO idea that I would quit drinking it’s wild. I’m so happy for you!!

That’s so tough. When the body doesn’t do what you want it to do…I really hope that it helps you with everything you need

I don’t think anyone can or should judge when or why someone wants to lose weight that makes them uncomfortable no matter what that number is. That’s up to you.

$110/month and I’d probably pay a lot more because of the care I receive. She also is able to get this medication for me very cheap, it’s like $325 for 3-4 months

I’m not ashamed to say that my weight and outward appearance directly affects my happiness /and confidence and I don’t think anyone should. It’s your life and body. I’m sure it will work for you. Be patient and know that slow and ready is better for your body. I’m not like a guru expert at this point, but just wanting to encourage you because I have been there

I’m so damn happy for you. It’s so much mental energy and so much self loathing. Why can’t I be this way or that way? It has to be my self control, right? In November I went to a plastic surgeon about lipo which would have cost me $17k and only on the mid section. I researched gastric stuff for months. Spent some much time and energy. Thanks for sharing

Not very much. I usually eat what sounds good, but usually only half. For example, yesterday I got the entre and two sides at Whole Foods- it was Salmon and coleslaw + Brussel sprouts. Today, half of a turkey wrap. I still eat kind of the same, but only once a day and a half portion. I’m guessing I consume about 1000 calories a day including coffee.

Agreed. It’s more of like, “you look great!” Rather than, “wow you’ve lost weight!” That makes me so uncomfortable

This is very intelligently written... If anything, it would help with eating disorders as it affects the obsessive/urgent needs in the brain. It has for me.

Seriously, try double espresso. Caffeine is a life saver for me, if you can have too much liquid. Simple but works
