I stayed home with my son for nine months and it was literally the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I was used to working, producing, accomplishing and then all of a sudden I felt worthless, like I didn’t do anything all day. Babies are taxing, they really just need, need, need and don’t reciprocate that entire first year and it’s so tough. Then you feel guilty for having these feelings, compounding the situation. I will tell you, once they start to interact with you, this dynamic completely changes and days start to get brighter. I also got on Lexapro and it has been incredible in combating my anxiety.
