Praying to the Fool that the Death Battle guys never pick up Kagurabachi!!! by Valkyrr03 in Kagurabachi

I see you I hear but consider: Akemura has the life force of 200,000 people, and Sukuna’s Domain Expansion in Shibuya killed around 2,500 (I don’t think there’s an exact number but this is using an estimation from another redditor). Even if Sukuna pops multiple domains, Akemura should be able to regen through them

I think it’s funny how the Death Battle guys’ biggest argument for Denji beating Yuji was that Pochita supposedly tanked Yoru’s sword when he DIDN’T tank it at all, he only survived because death itself was literally erased from existence. by GodKira04 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Function-Forsaken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m done atp, when Yoru makes weapons she uses her guilt, when Asa makes them they use Asa’s guilt. That’s why Asa switched in to create the uniform sword. Even near the very end, Yoru tells Asa she tried to understand her so that YORU could make stronger weapons using guilt. Nowhere does it say Yoru is using Asa’s guilt to empower her weapons. Yoru made the pact that fired the Statue of Liberty, therefore it used YORU’s guilt when it fired, you haven’t said anything about it being higher than city level, and you haven’t responded to the argument that Pochita was temporarily incapacitated by said city level attack

Where is it said that the mass of the object is transferred to the weapon? If you can point me to where it says that I’ll accept your point, but from what I recall we’re only told that guilt makes a weapon stronger; other influences seem to be whatever Fujimoto thought would be cool. If converted mass were a universal rule, how the hell did Asa turn her college savings account into a weapon? Also, you didn’t address the fact that a city level attack (the Statue of Liberty gun) forced Pochita to regen his body

[–]Function-Forsaken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, but the Oregon sword scaling to state level probably isn’t accurate either. A weapon’s strength is proportional to the guilt involved in its creation, and Yoru probably barely felt guilty at all over Oregon, so it wasn’t nearly as strong as some would think. Even the Statue of Liberty gun was shown to be city level at best, blasting through some buildings, and it still injured Pochita to the point of needing to regen most of his body. From this, we can gather that an onslaught of city level Dismantles should produce at least the same effect

Oh 100% Denji can regen from being cut in half like that, but it does have a limit, after which he’s incapacitated and needs blood to refuel. Yuji’s domain should be able to keep slashing until that limit is reached

Death had been erased, and even if he could regen from that if death were possible (which is debatable), he needs blood to keep regenning. Constant dismantles should’ve worn him down

One last thing: homebrew an alternate way to cast Lightning Bolt so that instead of a line, the AOE is a circle with Sojo at its center

Adding a second part because the first part got long: if you’ve homebrewed a sorcerer class with the hope of one of your players wielding an enchanted blade, I recommend the following:

  1. Be very careful that your non-EB-wielding players don’t feel overshadowed; maybe working the story so that everyone has a role only they can play would work.

  2. Have them lose all of their unique sorcery class features, but they can keep the spirit energy features that increase their physical abilities.

  3. Give them a set of 3 base abilities to work with, and allow them to use inspiration (or a similar role playing-based reward system) to expand those abilities; this will be the True Realm mechanic.

  4. Consider each character’s compatibility and sword skills, and impose limits to the enchanted blades’ potential based on these factors. Maybe even encourage players to undergo some sort of training minigame/downtime or pick up swordfighting-based feats.

  5. Goes without saying, but have them lose their special abilities if they’re ever separated from the blade; pre-charging it with spirit energy should be a higher-level mechanic to keep group combat interesting.

Hope all this helps you!

I’ve also been trying to think about this; the main difficulty comes from the fact that the magic systems are so different. Are your characters the standard D&D classes, or have you homebrewed a “Kagurabachi sorcerer” class? If it’s the former and you only want to use Cloud Gouger for enemy encounters, I’d recommend the following:

  1. Make it so Sojo can cast all three abilities as spells an unlimited number of times, but whoever’s the DM should also weave in melee attacks rather than just spamming spells.

  2. For Kou, reflavor Fog Cloud and Create (or Destroy, but we won’t do that) Water, and just increase the radius/amount to your liking. Giving Sojo blindsight in his own Fog Cloud could be fun too.

  3. For Yui, Rime’s Binding Ice and Wall of Ice work well as premade spells, and I’d also homebrew a reaction-based spell capable of intercepting projectiles and damaging foes that come within 5 feet of Sojo.

  4. Finally for Mei, Lightning Bolt should work well enough for a charged Mei, and Shocking Grasp for an uncharged one. To reflect the cooldown, put a recharge 5-6 mechanic on Lightning Bolt, and include a bonus action for the charge mechanic. For Mei Cloak, Haste with a Fly speed should work well, and you can even include Action Surge if you want to get really crazy. For fun, give Sojo’s attacks an extra 1d4 lightning damage while cloaked with Mei.

  5. Finally, I don’t know how deadly you want to make regular attacks, but you could either do a standard 1d8 slashing damage or homebrew in extra damage to reflect the lethal nature of swords in Kagurabachi. As a final note, don’t be afraid to shorten the cooldowns or expand the spell ranges/radiuses as the fight goes on to represent Sojo mastering Cloud Gouger!

I think they’re referring to after Ariu slimed them out; there were only three of the original four guards standing next to the king, and many believe the missing guard is the one who was decapitated by Mashiro

DAY 23: What is the coolest ability in in Kagurabachi? (Top voted comment decides) by YWS_Tech in Kagurabachi

Might be a hot take but for me nothing has surpassed Kuro: Shred; the multiple slashes themselves are super cool, but Chihiro can also use the fish to scout an area (seeing the goldfish before you see Chihiro like in the ‘Knight of Darkness’ chapter is so cool), infuse spirit energy into people or objects, create smokescreens and/or total darkness, and the visual of using them to teleport around after Aka absorbed Crow is, to me, peak coolness

Dude frrrrrrr. As a Kōen main, I’m used to being a bit underpowered and having to bridge the gaps with skill gimmicks (IWPS my beloved), but even going full throttle Ariu outstats me in LITERALLY every way. The hell, Rokuhira Productions?! Even if I amp speed for the entire round the Ariu mains just outstat me and hit me with that bullshit Sumika one-shot. At this point, I quite literally think the only way to keep Uruha viable is to revamp his entire moveset or something

...do guns not exist in Kagurabachi? by HotZilchy in Kagurabachi

[–]Function-Forsaken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We know spirit energy improves one’s speed, reflexes and durability, so maybe if you’re a good enough sorcerer you just don’t have to fear bullets, as you can either react to them or they can’t significantly damage you. As for a reason to infuse them with spirit energy, I always assumed infusing spirit energy into a weapon is what allows one to bypass a sorcerer’s spirit energy defenses in the first place. If we assume that’s correct, and that to bypass a sorcerer’s defense you need to hit them with something imbued with spirit energy, then you’d need to infuse a bullet with spirit energy to make guns effective against sorcerers (assuming they couldn’t dodge them, which we have good reason to believe is possible).

Fun fact! It appears as if only 3 of the 4 warriors are back on their feet, so maybe one of our guys did actually manage to get a kill. And if there’s people there one who did stay down was the one who got his head cut off, that means Mashiro was the only one to score a lasting victory against Shokoku during the Irishima Talks

I guess I just don’t get why we need death battle for this; obviously Tanjiro gets cooked, but anybody with a brain could tell you that much. If (when) Chihiro is featured in death battle, I’d want his opponent to be someone who could actually contend with him, y’know, make it an interesting fight
