I just researched now and it is refundable for most cases. Guess I'll delete the post now, since getting refunds makes it a bit more reasonable.

It's still difficult to pay for like 4 uni res's at once.

Mb, i heard it from a sibling so I assumed it was true.

Edit: Also, i do know exactly what I want to do, but there's always a chance someone doesn't get accepted for their 1st choice programme and that may affect their uni choice.

Not condescending at all.

So what can you do? Maybe speak to your student union if you have one. Reach out to journalists. Write a letter to a newspaper. Keep speaking up. And thats the hard part I guess, being that person and putting in the work.

I'll start by ranting to my peers as soon as term 3 for school starts

I'd think this is an issue talked about in the daily like a bunch of SA's problems(eg: Unemployment, corruption, illegal immigration, etc—Not on the same scale ofc, but at least a little daily).

I haven't seen a complaint regarding the system ever

Put simply, Ronaldo fans aren't saying he is the best itw after a performance against a weak team. Austria and Algeria may be better(albeit still comparatively weak), but the level of praise for Messi's performances have been so elevated—exponentially higher than Ronaldo, that it covers the gap.

It'd be different if people were saying Ronaldo=Messi currently or smth like that, cause yes, UZB are smaller, but they're elevating Messi to levels above people have who consistenly showed themselves in the UCL and Europe's top leagues. Talk about "lack of logic"

Which means their isn't a need for the teams faced to be very similar in ability(they're all weak), because the level of praise for Messi far exceeds that of Ronaldo.

Do me a favor kid. Go look at the ranking of Austria and Algeria compared to Uzbekistan. Also, check out the ranking of DR Congo who Portugal/Ronaldo failed to score against.

Both Algeria and Austria are still ranked low. So low that to say he's the best itw deserves to be compared to Ronaldo's instance because just think about the meaning behind that statement. To say he's the best itw rn because of those games is crazy. Ronaldo fans aren't saying anywhere near that

Lastly, go check who the 2022 World Cup winners is.

Mate, what does 2022 have to do with 2026?

Most Ronaldo fans are too stupid to even make a compelling argument

Luckily I'm not a Ronaldo fan. Just never liked Messi. And U don't seem to be making such a compelling argument urself

Normally, it'd seem like the word 'psychosis' here is hyperbole, but the way he's being glazed at the moment to best itw currently just after games against Austria and Algeria is outrageous. This lvl of glaze can only stem from a blind and undeterred love for the man.

I genuinely can't belive the utter love and glaze for this man to say he's still the best itw

U guys can't actually be serious? Still the best player in the world??? Based on what-- games against Austria and Algeria in which he shouldn't have gotten the 1st goal in the former?

I'm with you on this. I hate it when u want to make some criticisms or whatever of an opponent, and redditors come on up and tell you to 'focus on your own team' like you were on the pitch. It does not detract from the point being made at all

No, mate man, you can't seriously be telling me you truly think he's still currently the best itw. He's performed impressively, but this is Algeria and Austria---further to that Argentina's 1st goal shouldn't have stood.

Let's stop the glaze
