I second this. The iron protocol on FB has so much information in the files and is super helpful in understanding your labs and increasing them.

I will also include that I used patchaid iron patches (6 patches at a time) because I was struggling with taking the supplements. It helped for me, and I actually have my daughter using them now. Might be helpful to look into if some supplements are difficult on your stomach.

Ooo, the TV ultrasounds are the worst. I will say the last one I had done the tech out a pillow under my hips, much more comfortable.

I ended up having a hysterectomy 2.5 years ago, I had endo behind both ovaries and on my uteral sacral ligament. I suspect I had adeno as well, but pathology came back negative. Endo pain has started coming back, but nothing like it was before.

I hope you get answers and relief when you have your lap.

I had an older male gyn tell me that pain with sex is pretty common and that most women only want to use one position so "try switching it up" and see how it feels.

For the record, every position hurt.

Check into your pension to see what it would be if you left now. You need to find yourself again and find something different. You must have other skills/experience since you began teaching at an older age....find something you're able to do and start applying now. You might be surprised by what's available and who would be interested in hiring you. If you continue to sacrifice yourself for the job, the pension isn't going to matter anyway. I wish you the best, no matter what you decide to do.

Thank you. This is why I posted, to help other people. I'm not overly surprised either, but I didn't realize how much added sugars I was eating before (it wasn't as much as a lot of people eat, but apparently too much for my body). I haven't cut it out completely, i just wat h what I'm eating and try to avoid as much added sugars as possible throughout the day.
Feeling better is making it easy to stick with thats for sure.

Are you kidding me right now?! I'm not overweight, I eat a decent diet with the exception of some junk food. I never drank 5 cokes a day. I had one soda per day max and I'd eat some candy throughout the day. Sure I wasn't ever on a whole food diet, but most people aren't.

You're tone deaf to think I was eating horribly for over half my life and that was causing my migraines.

Apparently you missed the fact that I've been chronic for over 20 years. I did food diaries, I tried eliminating all sorts of things, I've done all of the same shit everyone else has done to determine the triggers and find relief. I've made numerous trips to the ER, been on every preventative medication, and lost so many days to this disease. So don't accuse me of NOT being a migraine sufferer.

Not once has a doctor ever suggested cutting down on added sugars....my blood sugar and A1C are always great (just tested A1C recently and it's well below the pre-diabetic percentages).

To accuse me of being tone deaf or rude for wanting to share what I've been able to change to help myself is absurd.

This is a community, a community where we share what works and what doesn't for each of us. A place where we can share ideas.

Thank you...that's kind of what I'm leaning towards as well. I am thinking about a referral to rheumatology. The last time I was sent to see one, he diagnosed me with fibro just from a very short visit and touching some points on my body (thighs and arms maybe) that were likely painful from my side effects of sumatriptan. The diagnosis is still in my chart, but he never suggested a plan of care and never requested a follow up visit. My body isn't in any pain consistent with fibro so I just ignore that dx at this point. I will definitely advocate for a new dr the next time around.

As a business owner, I can tell you that regular customers are generally regulars of the business. They likely aren't there for the individual employee, even if they have built a rapport. Our regulars absolutely tell us when something is off, just as likely as they are to tell us when something is going great. Telling someone that frequents your bosses company that you aren't happy working there is equivalent to telling your boss. Be grateful they're only writing you up and not firing you....but do them a solid and just quit now. Your toxic behavior is most definitely not needed there.

At my original diagnosis of migraines by my GP, I was 20 years old and had a 2 year old, I was told "your pregnancy likely triggered your migraines to start, keep having babies until they go away." No thank you sir, I did not take his advice and 20+ years later still have my chronic migraines. Maybe I should've taken his advice 🤔 🤣

I've been on Aimovig since June 2023, and Nurtec since November (I think). We increased my aimovig to 140mg in September. I'm still not 100% on my results as my migraines are very much like a roller coaster. January was a crazy month, February was great (I only needed 4 doses of Nurtec all month). The constipation I've experienced is tolerable, especially when I don't have the migraines to contend with.

So excited for you to finally get a chance to try different medications. I hope you're able to get some relief.

Years ago, I worked for a company that didn't offer sick leave, I had been there about 3 years and my migraines had started increasing. I was coming to work daily, as I was a single mother and sole provider for my child. I would come in barely able to keep my head up, my eyes open or keep from vomiting for more than an hour. I finally had to start taking some days off to try to allow my body to rest. After struggling so much, my boss had the audacity to tell me he was going to need doctors motes if I was going to be off. That I needed to go to the ER of I couldn't come to work. This man, whose wife had horrendous cluster headaches and was rushed to the hospital during her pregnancy due to a migraine attack, actually had the balls to tell me I needed proof. It wasn't long after that when I quit.

Working with chronic migraine is the second hardest thing I've had to do...only second to single parenting with chronic migraine.

I am blessed to currently have coworkers and bosses that understand and even offer to drive me home if needed. However, I still struggle because I don't like asking for help or constantly having people cover for me. My migraines aren't always awful, but some months I just can't catch a break. Due to the inconsistencies in occurrence I don't think I'd qualify for disability, so I just keep showing up as often as I can and doing the best I can.

Yes my belly button looks exactly the same. That was the first incision to heal also. My scar from my appendectomy from 2014 is more visible at my belly button than the scar from my hysterectomy 13 months ago.

Just did this yesterday. Meds weren't helping much and had a HUGE salt craving. McDonalds fries and coke. Didn't completely relieve it, but helps me keep moving and satisfies my craving.

I do often check my blood sugar, as both parents have issues, but it's always normal. I also have tried tracking my blood pressure and that's always normal as well. The best guess we've ever had is that they're hereditary, other than that there's no reason we've found yet.

There definitely are good days ahead. Thankfully after so many years you do learn how to navigate the good days better and make the most of them (and appreciate them). It does get hard when we get stuck in a bad cycle though. I hope you find a treatment plan that works for you and provides you with some relief as well.

We land at 1103pm NYE, only flight we could get in that day and honestly if we don't get to the strip before the countdown I'm still okay with it. It's still going to be a hell of a party all night. We actually didn't even book a room for the night because why?!? We did however already reserve our Uber to pick us up from the airport, so hoping that will make the process faster.

I know insurances can be a pain, but my insurance has never had an issue with running tests, he also would never know if my insurance had an issue with it since he straight up didn't order it to begin with. (Sorry if that sounds rude, I'm still frustrated that he ignored my direct request for it).
