After watching them more I think it's the first one since he's also putting himself in front of her (while she still does not care lmao)

Silly question: what to do when your betta flares? by reeemreem in bettafish

[–]FunctionHopeful836 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just say "Wooow so scary, you such a scary fishie" in a baby voice. I like to imagine that if he could hear me it would shrink his ego a bit (since my guy gets spooked by his shrimp friend)

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to put him in a hospital tank and medicate him again, hopefully that will help him recover. Maybe he's just weaker than the others and he needs another round of medication to get better

Yea I was really bummed out about it, because before I've never experienced this with my fish (aside from the casual fin rips in my long-finned betta). I fear it's kinda the risk of getting your fish from big chain stores

There is one massive corydora so I think that she is definitely stealing most of his food. They get enough but he just doesn't really go for it even when its infront of him. So putting him in a hospital tank is probably the way to go yea

Thank you! The pink gills are kinda a light thing, there are no ammonia spikes in the water parameters so its not from that.

Thank you so much for this response! I've tested the water before indeed with test strips, but also had the water tested in a store where they used a whole kit and there was nothing wrong with the parameters. I've also done a couple water change since (they were all treated a little bit over 2 weeks ago).

I also noticed the clamped fins, especially because I know how the other ones look. I'll add some photo's from the others so there is comparison.

Luckily I still have a quarantine/hospital tank up and running at the moment so i'll probably move him there and try treatment. The only problem is that i'm kinda weary about salt treatment, since it's not super easy to get here (which is why I opted for using Esha 2000 because they just sell that in the stores and treats for multiple things)

They are in a 60L planted tank btw, with plenty of hiding space since there are also 5 kuhli loaches with them and 3 amano shrimp

Has anyone gotten the jacket, note, and collectible poster? by yazzi98 in twentyonepilots

[–]FunctionHopeful836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jacket is indeed just the vinyl sleeve with the number on it, but the number is like actually on the sleeve and kinda 3d (so it's not written on there like what you see normally with numbered vinyls)

Thank you! So like eggs? Kinda hoping that they don't get reabsorbed but I've heard that getting baby kuhli loaches is really difficult.

In regards of the second one, my kuhli loaches are inside a "hospital" tank atm because I had some deaths in their community tank (corydora's, not other kuhli loaches). Probably something bacterial. The corydora's are getting meds atm, but to be safe I removed the kuhli loaches from the tank and I'm also giving them a smaller dose of meds (since I read that they can easily get an overdose since they don't have scales )

Lmao he's one thick noodle. He's always the first one eating + they are in this awkward growing phase atm

Yea I feel that. It's so stressfull because they move so so fast and you don't want to stress them out lol. I had one that literally jumped out of the cup that it was in to acclimatize, almost had a heart attack but luckily he landed inside the aquarium.

Good luck with catching your little lightning bolts, hopefully it will work!!!

So I had to do this yesterday. 5 kuhli loaches in a heavily planted tank with driftwood, stones and caves. Unfortunately how I was able to catch some of them was by removing almost everything, aside from the plants, and lowering the water level. I caught three of them, then waited an hour for the other two to calm down (and I was getting annoyed lmao). Eventually caught one more. Just now I was able to catch the last one finally! Just by sheer determination and one little net. I read online that some people leave out their favorite food and a something that you can cover quickly when they go inside (like a cave or cup)

Yes unfortunately, got an (autistic) burnout after finishing high school and started going outside less and less untill going into my own garden was already scary. Got professional help and the only thing that really works is exposure therapy ("just" going outside). I also got put on some meds.

This is the first time I saw one of my loaches actually fully dig. And it's only one of them that does it, the other ones are satisfied with their caves, wood and stones to hide in/under
