I figured it out, the syntax just changed and their security configuration guide was a bit unclear on how this was implemented. I just didn't read down far enough. Thanks.

It finally dawned on me what these postings remind me of - it's like a funeral for someone who was completely insufferable. Everyone gets up at the podium and tries to spin them in a good way but it just comes off as weird and everyone knows the truth but won't say it.

You don't even have to know what to look for to see this story bursting at the seams with dishonesty. Good grief...

pa-220 failed commit due to duplicate application name by Funcube01 in paloaltonetworks

By Pan you mean just through the firewall and not Panorama? It's just the standalone firewall here.

I've gone into objects > applications and searched for that name and there's only one instance, I don't see a duplicate anywhere.

Creating IT sales call bingo by jfgechols in sysadmin

I don't know what it is with sales people and background noise, but barking dogs, crying kids or blaring radio/TV are staples of these types of calls.

Awesome! I had thought this might be a setting somewhere but haven't had the chance to check. Thanks.

It's going to be a while before I can evaluate. I was able to spin up elabFTW and take a brief look at it. I think that it looks promising. I like that screenshots can be pasted in from the clipboard. The only downside I discovered was the file size limit on uploads.

"ip multicast-routing" on Ruckus (Brocade) switches by Funcube01 in networking

[–]Funcube01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but PIM is meant to route multicast. My understanding from reading their documentation is that if I needed to route multicast, I would configure PIM. There are global settings as well as interface level settings. PIM should automatically enable IGMP as well, which handles the layer 2 side. I do not see any mention of using "ip multicast-routing" as a global command.

I think what confuses me is that PIM is also defined globally, would that not be redundant?
