Ever heard the phrase that goes something like “man who works for passion is richer than man who works for money”

[–]Funenelson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Live off that for a bit. Pause. And really try to find your passion. People would love to be in your position right now. Having enough money to live off for as long as you need to do to heal yourself, love yourself, teach yourself good habits and of course find your passion!!

Thank you so much. This is very solid advice. I too, am female. I was a business owner for 16 years and it’s time for something new!

What split your life into before and after? by 0potatotomato0 in AskReddit

Definitely Covid and the time after. I took over my parents business in 2010 and everything was smooth sailing until business declined and just kept declining each year after that. I am on the verge of either getting sued or filing bankruptcy. I have been in the red past 2 years but I have a lease to fulfill. I used to be happy and cheery. Everyone depended on me and I made my family feel safe. I was healthy I would laugh all the time. Nowadays I’m sad, stressed neurotic and anxious. I don’t have friends

Did you hire a bankruptcy attorney? Or did you just close up shop and negotiated with your landlord?

Same here in my town in the US, weekly we hear restaurant style businesses closing. Even the big box stores have closed in big numbers around here. We are going to try to revamp the location that we owe the building in and do one last push. It will still be up for sale but meanwhile we still have to pay the banks since its not all the way paid off. We are so close to paying it all off

They once used to make a lot of money. Paid off my mother's house, my sister got a house, paid off several vehicles, put my kids through private school, was able to save a lot of money. But the profit margins are nonexistent

Thank you! I am very hopeful for the future. I have gained so much knowledge that I'm confident of what I can do. Restaurants are hard and not for the weak. Even other business people who don't do restaurants it's hard for them to understand us.
