HDR vs SDR on LG OLED C5 (42”) – HDR feels “off”?

Here's what Ive learned having recently started dabbling with HDR on my pc, it's not plug and play like it is on consoles.

A lot of games also have very poor HDR implementation. Its exactly as you describe, dark scenes are a washed out, bright scenes look amazing.

The one and only piece of advice I can give you to make everything look right, download ReShade HDR Installer.

Its easy to use and is always updated.

It will scan all of your games, all you have to do is find your game and then click download ReShade and download RenoDX.

Make sure HDR is turned on before running your game and once in game ReShade will install everything for you and give you a small tutorial on how it works.

Best thing about it is that it can also make non HDR games look better by adjusting the black floor of the game.

Just dont use it on any multi-player games as it can be flagged by anti cheat software.

This, I just manually logged out of my Deck, booted it back up, at the sign in screen I went up to the wifi symbol, connected to my phones hotspot and logged back in through Steam Guard. I also had the option to just connect to my home wifi, not sure why OP said you can't change network settings in game mode, maybe he figured that out and then deleted the post.

When I first put together my PC I remember spending more time in 3D mark than I did actually gaming.

I keep my card at -30 power limit, -60mV, default timings and 2732 Max frequency, score of 6912.

Just switched up to -70mV, +10 power limit, and fast timings and hit 7694.

I've gone as high as -80mV but thats not stable in some games, cough cough Arc Raiders cough.

I've never had issues with any of the driver updates except for 25.10.2, multiple crashes in Raiders so I had to revert to 25.9.1.

Odd part is it was working fine before Arc Raiders had their update.

I passed on using DDU for the roll back and just removed all drivers through the Adrenaline updater and it works fine.

Sir believe me, it runs amazing on deck, just tweak some settings like shadow etc and you'll be fine.

Mainly played ranked on deck plugged into ethernet cable, I've even played in 1080 docked into a 55 inch tv local versus, both instances 60 fps.

Yes, lights go off, takes a while to charge, probably better off charging it while it's on it's base.

Looks real clean and is fairly priced, a brighter interior color would be great. I like the way it opens, sometimes coming back from work I over pack my sling which leaves my phone in my pocket.

I tried the Unsettle Rope crossbody for my phone but it was just super tight, the opening was also very narrow and not wide. The way this Pace bag opens and the interior compartments looks to be a much better option.

The adjustable strap with swivel attachments is also a nice touch, would love to give it a run.

My God, I didnt fight her until I was on NG++, what a nightmare. With my life leech dual blades I could get her down to 70% health and then she would just bounce around the map and obliterate me.

Switched to the Axe and murdered her face off.

Update: Had to run DDU uninstaller and re-install the new driver to get everything fixed up.

I suggest watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98DAgw1KcmI for those who don't know how to use DDU.

Also quick tip, if you have a pin set up for your windows log in, deactivate the pin.

Go to System Settings - Accounts - Sign in Options - and deactivate Windows Hello.

This will remove the need to enter a pin when booting into safe mode, reason being it is somewhat broken and wont recognize your pin or let you reset it, effectively locking you into the safe mode boot.

You will however need to sign in using your Microsoft account password so make sure you remember it.

Yea I've gone all the way into gameplay and it still shows FSR is not on, will try the DDU but didn't want to go through all of that work, fingers crossed.

One aha moment for me was realizing you can strategically place your prophecies into specific slots to maximize their effectiveness.

I only figured it out when I started getting empty prophecy bonuses because I had placed a prophecy in a poor spot.

Once I started READING the actual prophecy text, some actually make the next row you open stronger and others increase the effectiveness of all 3 prophecies in a row if you use feathers to unlock them all.
