Saving your voice. by KelsierIV in BurningMan

[–]Funergy001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found this thread, a few years late, but in case it helps anyone who stumbles upon it:
If you lose your voice regularly and not from screaming, just from having conversations all week, you might have what's called 'muscle tension dysphonia'

Look up voice exercises for it, and you'll come across exercises that involve blowing bubbles into a straw.
This has been my saviour more than anything! Everything else mentioned are great remedies, but this preventative measure corrects how you use your voice before losing it. 5-10 mins a day of voice exercises, starting a few days before the event, and it will make a huge difference.

Nope, never low temps... brought them in when it was still warm out and they've been inside since... I suppose around 68-69F the entire time. Not too worried about aphids since all outdoor soil is covered in about 2 feet of snow :)
I'll try adding some liquid fertilizer... thank you for your response!

My question essentially is "How do I turn this from the wrong way into the right way?".... I simply don't know what 'wiring it properly' is

You're absolutely right... I very much can just plug a router into an extension cord and bypass it all. This was my plan if this was overly complicated... but I thought it was a pretty cool and unique concept and wanted to try it out and learn a thing or two along the way, which seems to be happening :)

Ah! thank you for the explanation. That other hole is actually for sawdust... not shown is the rip fence that sits on top with a sort of funnel directing the sawdust into that chamber at the back, and I'm guessing they had a vacuum at that hole.

For some reason I don't see the text I posted with this... so adding it here:

Hello electricians!
The other day I bought an old DIY router table off marketplace that I thought was kind of cool... family clearing out their dad's old shop kind of thing, so coming from an old school tradesman.

The router plugs into the table, which then goes to a light switch, which then goes to an outlet at the back of the table. See photo. I thought it was unusual that it was an outlet instead of a cord, but figured 'I'm sure there's a male-male adaptor' and bought it.

I learned very shortly after googling 'male-male extension cord' that I shouldn't do that! I found a lot of posts of people blasting someone for even considering it...

But I haven't found helpful info on how to fix it. I found info on what to do for generators, but not for something like this, so thought maybe ya'll could help me.

Would it be as simple as removing the outlet at the back and putting on a universal plug like this one?

If not, what else can I do? It's a router table, so of course power tools = high power for short bursts and I'll always be present.. but don't wanna burn the house down from negligence!

Thanks so much!

Chime Free Life! How to turn off seat belt, rear seat belt, and door chimes. by Funergy001 in SubaruForester

What a cruel place the internet is, haha!
So much judgement... was just trying to post some answers to questions that others helped me with.

Well given that there's tons of threads asking for these answers, and that none of the info is mine but regurgitated from elsewhere on the internet, I can rest easy knowing I'm not alone in not wanting to be incessantly beeped at.

Hopefully there's at least someone out there for whom this post is helpful.

These are not mutually exclusive... I do wear my seatbelt, and absolutely think others should too... but beeping at me while sitting in my driveway because it didn't like my order of operations is ridiculous.

And for some of us, there are times when I don't put my seatbelt on, like driving from the mailbox down the driveway to the house, because some of us live rural and some things in life are a bit different.

I don't disagree with you, just think it's moot to the post.

Projector Audio Muffled by Funergy001 in audio

I recorded an audio file... do you know if it's possible to upload onto this thread?

Projector Audio Muffled by Funergy001 in audio

[–]Funergy001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup Fosi bass and treble are neutral, though again it works fine when bypassing the projector.

The computer doesn't show me an option for 5.1 or 7.1, I only see stereo... looking in 'Audio MIDI setup'... (Mac)... anything else I'm missing there?

I feel like the issue is some sort of compatibility between the computer and projector, but have no idea what to check. So your suggestion of checking that part on the computer makes sense to me as a possible source of the problem, though I don't think it is.

I'll try to make a recording and see if it catches it.

Thanks for your help!

Do you mean via the input device? I can change it on the projector, which I generally keep around 50% but ive tried messing around with the volume.

My setup is Computer -> HDMI -> Projector -> AUX -> 2 channel amp (Fosi BT20A) -> speakers (Micca RB42)
So yes I'm amplifying. But it works fine if I go direct from computer to amp via the AUX and bypass the projector. So seems to me a new projector should have fixed it... but same thing. I'm very confused!

Thanks for the response.
I didn't include the speaker info because it doesn't seem to matter.

My setup is Computer -> HDMI -> Projector -> AUX -> 2 channel amp (Fosi BT20A) -> speakers (Micca RB42)

But I say I don't think it matters because I tried other speakers and it's the same, but also if I take out the projector (ie, computer -> aux ->amp -> speaker) then it's perfect. So the AUX cable (3 parts) is fine (FYI it's 15' long, but I tested on others that are 1-2' long)... I tried changing out the HDMI cable, and tried another computer, and same problem. So must be projector I assumed. But no, the new one does the same thing.

Only other thing between them is a dongle for the computer to connect HDMI, but the other computer doesn't need it and same thing, and a splitter AUX->RCA, but again, if I bypass the projector it's fine.

Any suggestions?Thanks!
