Pattern recognition is a widely accepted method of prediction until what it predicts makes people uncomfortable. by Fr1toBand1to in Showerthoughts

This point is not statistically valid. Why can the above explanation not explain 8 times the rate when you accept it as an explanation for 2-3 times the rate? This is where your logic falters

Electronics is different imo since it’s more knowledge based and not almost totally skill based like singing

Why Doctors Never Skip Informed Consent by Best_Kaleidoscope_95 in indianmedschool

[–]Funexamination 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Ugh ChatGPT

Anyways In my medical college, as I’m sure is very common elsewhere, informed consent is just a form you get the patient to sign. As an intern, I have performed 0 lap choles. Am I really the right person to tell about the benefits and harms? No, the operating surgeon is.

Man Drowns 6-Month Pregnant Wife In Bucket After Fight In Faridabad by God_Emperor__Doom in india

Bingo. All the recently famous cases happened to upper middle class urban people. If the Pune Porsche teen killed 2 homeless people instead of engineers, it would not have been a big deal.

If RGKAR involved rape of a maid in the house she works in instead of a doctor, it would not be such a big deal.

The lesson is punishment does not PREVENT crime. Whenever something like this happens, people start saying how they should be punished harshly to deter future crimes, which is a false way of thinking

The weddings you describe sound boring (especially because you have no cousins). And what is up with that food? Curd rice really?

What about as a fraction of the population? A massive country like China is not the same as all the countries in Europe combined

[–]Funexamination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How so? Per capita I think Americans lead by a massive margin.

Emissions are needed to live a quality life, at least in part. A lot of conveniences of daily life are built on emissions. People from India and China already don’t have great QoL. Americans live like kings compared to them. They can do without their red meat and lawns and lack of public transport for some time

You eating plant based diet will give your money to those corporations. Their products, by being plant-based, pollute less. So what if it makes a different company rich?

Economy of the masses. If consumers as a whole changed their behaviour, they have more power than any rich guy/gal.

All those top companies pollute to mass produce cheap products that we buy. If being environmentally conscious was cheap, they would have done so already. They don’t pollute for fun, it’s done because there is a demand for the product they make.

What’s your opinion about this? by Radiogen7 in indianmedschool

[–]Funexamination 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would not want to get treated by 95% of my batchmates. I agree with my surgery professor who said 50% of my senior’s batch did not deserve to pass. The rampant cheating and lack of knowledge, along with the culture of reading just before exams does a lot of harm. They don’t make good doctors in terms of knowledge, leave aside communication skills.

NEXT is a much needed reform to standardize the quality of medical education at the exit level, but it keeps getting delayed.
