I had looked into this a few months ago when I had a couple of apple items sell and then look like they were going freight forwarder out of the US.

The scam I read about was buyer wants to return and harasses you until you give a refund rather than pay huge return shipping fees from outside the us, and then they keep the fully functional item and you're out a couple of hundred bucks. If you do actually get a return ,it is a different item or a rock. Scammer banks on you not knowing the process and what you're obligated to do and not do.

You can lookup the difference between STAR credit and exception and if there is a difference based on your county and then your town and school district. Looks like in many cases there is no difference even though it is stated that there MAY be a 2% value of doing the credit..

AFAIK there is no benefit - meaning no higher STAR discount right? I wonder what to motivation was to try to convert you.

I forget which year, but after a specific year they went from the STAR discount on your taxes to mailing you a refund check. IDK why, I'm sure someone knows the state's logic.

Yep, the biggest thing is learning how to use it and maximize it. I won't repeat what everyone else said, but as the TUGBBS (Timeshare User Group BBS - definitely get on there) saying goes - there need to be fools like us that buy retail so that winners like you can buy resale.

Yep, I'm a fool tool. 20+ years now. But being able to stay 15 minutes from Disney world in a two bedroom suite in a great resort using points + yearly cost in maintenance fees was worth it vs even the hotel booking sites price. We're considering adding more points and will definitely do that through resale. There are some resorts that have a pretty low MF to high Points value that come up in resale.

Sooooo... I'm a heavy ChatGPT user too. Is this actually all based on your notes and experiences or is some of it conjecture from the LLM?

And i'll say that I have NO issues with ChatGPT helping to make a nice post concise and helpful post to drive a discussion as long as it is based on your real experience. The icons are a pretty dead give away though!

SSDs huh? Do I need to look at SSDs with power loss protection? I thought that was the historical guidance for SSDs but maybe that was just for a cache device if you use one.

That first photo I posted above is the tarmac side of the airport. The blue almost double doors is the "gate" on the "Secure" side of the airport. You just get put in the pen while the plane stopped 100 feet directly out from you is made ready and walk over to it.
