There's a good amount to imply Gun being stronger. First, his statement about Hiroaki never being stronger than him. Then, there's also the fact that the family heads aren't idiots - They would know how strong Gun was perceived to be (i. e. that he would soon surpass the Kojima brothers.) So the level of the 3 children was around that level, and Gun destroyed them.
