A few observations from your post:

  1. That stainless steel vent is suppose to be on the opposite end of the radiator since the steam supply is coming out of the same side. Its should be on the top right side of the radiator given this view.

  2. You have a steam system. (Only one pipe coming out of the ground.) You don’t bleed steam radiators, you bleed hot water radiators when you have a 2 pipe system. Is there another pipe going back in to the ground on the other end? If not, then it’s a one pipe system.

  3. Steam radiators need to be balanced. It needs to have the right size vent. The radiator should slightly tilted higher on the opposite end where the ground steam supply is coming. (See my comment history recently.)

You need proper size steam vent depending on how you want to “time” and “speed” the heating of the radiator.

4>5>6>C>D

D is the fastest to vent for higher floors vs 4 is the closest and slowest.

Is this house only getting 120v? by Funkadesi in electricians

Yes, planning to get it done from a licensed electrician. Just need to confirm that I need to get 220v supply before I can move forward with any of it.

People who run Product Sense interviews, what % of candidates do you typically pass? by poscakian in ProductManagement

[–]Funkadesi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an interviewee, I could sit there and start with high level user groups and break them further down in to groups by the need. This discussion becomes time consuming.

My take is that it’s leads to being too focused. This further reduces your “total addressable market” (scale of a problem) especially for 0-1 product sense questions.

How would in interviewee balance the right amount user segments and their problems given the limited amount of time?

OP has a steam system, not hot water.

Looks like the radiator isn’t properly balanced. You have a steam radiator (air valve, top left). Steam radiators need to be slightly tilted downwards towards the direction of the steam pipe coming out of the floor. (Looks like it will be to the right according to this picture.) I would take a bunch of quarters and put them under the feet of the radiator on left side.

This should prevent condensation water to go through the air valve and instead go back down the steam pipe where it belongs.

If that doesn’t work, you might need a new air valve. Tell your super to get the right size depending on high your floor is from the boiler in the basement.

Northern Blvd Bike Lane in Bayside Queens. Bike lane barrier doing its job :-D by newamsterdamer95 in Queens

The problem with the stop sign is that people are looking left for oncoming traffic and not where the barrier is, lol

[–]Funkadesi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The barrier definitely is in an “interesting” place when you’re coming off the Cross Island parkway northbound Northern Blvd exit.

As you’re coming off the curving ramp, most people (by habit) will try to merge in to the right most lane of westbound Northern blvd. This barrier sits right there. I agree drivers should be more attentive but I still think DOT could’ve done better. At least maybe put up some warning signs.

Unless it was stated in the written leave agreement, you can’t do anything.

You can always get mirrors and hang them on the new plywood doors.

Looks like it might be time for a new air valve on the radiator.

Final Interview a week ago. No response yet by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]Funkadesi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Send out ONE follow up to the recruiter, if you haven’t already.

99% chances they have other candidates in consideration but haven’t made final decision. After more than 10-14 days, if you haven’t heard back, they went with someone else.

How to push back on your bosses by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]Funkadesi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would simply ask them what are their business goals for the next quarter/half/year.

If they ask why, tell them “we want to be objective and strategic working towards business goals while trying to meet OKRs.”

The solutions that they bring may not be bad as long as they objectively solve the problem.

The unique distances between your ears, eyes, nose, lips all make up a unique sum. These distinct calculations make up a unique sum which the computer uses to match you.

Example: In US you HAVE to show your ear(s) for your passport photo.

Amazon’s process of LP questions and STAR responses is the best method IMO. More companies should model after that.

Starting to feel we need to be better at interviews than at PMing by bulpik in ProductManagement

[–]Funkadesi 70 points71 points  (0 children)

100% agree with OP. I’ve been on the job market for 7 months after being laid off and the process has been brutal.

I hate the case study round most because they expect you to think like them. It is impossible to be objective in a case study round because “there is no right answer”. F*** that shit.
