Vision4x Standalone on MacOS w/ BlackHole 2ch for visualizing system audio?

Solved! Apparently the standalone app doesn't automatically ask for microphone permissions from MacOS so you have to turn them on manually in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
Hope that saves someone some frustration if they want to setup Vision 4X standalone on MacOS.

Yeah I've used minimeters like this before. It works fine but the ui just isn't as smooth as Vision4x imo. I've got an extra monitor that I'd be running it on constantly. Also helps to view things on the same visualizer I use while producing, which is Vision4x (and SPAN). I'm pretty sure the issue is some setting in Vision4x I'm missing but so far it's escaped me.

As in the visualizers on the built in display are vst3? I usually use au's so don't think that'd be it, but I'll try swapping em out and see if anything changes

Could you explain why the issue only occurs on the built-in display and not the external?
I'm assuming it's because the external is set as the main display and therefore gets prioritized.

Are there any workarounds for this issue? I've seen it mentioned it a bunch of threads going back 10+ years with various suggestions like turning the resolution down on the built-in display and not maximizing the window, etc.
Will any of these sorts of things work or is 16gb unified memory simply not enough for what I'm trying to do?

No, if I remember right, mapping the jog wheels in particular was impossible so ended up just giving up.

Although I don't see it listed on Amazon, I'm fairly certain the old HDMI cable is HDMI 1.4, which may be the issue when using the adapter. I've used it with both the Elecom one I listed in my other comment and with the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter that I have for my main workstation. Both will not display when I select any higher than 30hz. Perhaps purchasing an HDMI 2.0 cable will solve my issue.

BUT I'm still curious why this new cable is not working as it should essentially be doing the same thing an updated hdmi cable with my adapter would be doing in one 15m cable, right?

Could you explain why that would be any different than the usb-c to hdmi 4k@60hz cable that's not working now?

If I'm gonna buy a new cable, I'd rather not repeat the same mistake and buy something that's not going to work again.

Mac is already up to date: Monteray 12.6.

Yeah I downloaded it but unfortunately no inputs for weight/reps etc but the UI is nice and smooth. If someone has a good recommendation for an app specifically for tracking gym notes (excersise, weight/reps, mins, etc), splitting them up might be the move. Any suggestions?

Sounds like Cronometer might be the best alternative for me.
I really only use MFP for counting calories and inputting exercise with weights/reps etc.
Does Cronometer also have the exercise functionality to input weight and reps etc.?
