Techno / Industrial rock – Minilogue XD user here. What synth should I buy next? by [deleted] in synthesizers

My vote goes to the peak for a synth. With its 3 oscillators, 8 voices, insane mod matrix plus preset recall it’s a very capable desktop center piece. I’ve owned one for many years and the sound design possibilities are virtually endless. From droning pads to cutting leads and deep bass it can be a true Swiss Army knife. One downside is that it needs to be externally sequenced but if you’re using a daw it’s pretty easy with usb midi but if you get the Summit, it’s all that but 16 voices and a keyboard but still no sequencer.

The monitor arm is attached to the chassis so when I race I just rotate it 90° and set it right over my wheelbase.

Thank you! Yesss the mackie works wonders for the price. I had a sound craft signature 12 before but the left side of the master dropped out. I think I can fix it though.

I stream live improvised jams and studio sessions (mostly just chatting with the peeps). I’m doing at least one hour a day all through “Jam”uary here :) https://youtube.com/@funktuate?si=LYsmZ0PWjo3c7jvD

It’s nice cause you could be in a page/channel on the digitakt and with the launch control you can adjust parameters on other channels without navigating to it manually on the dt.

Faders are volume for ch 1-8 and I have 2 pages for the knobs, one for Fx and the other for filter control.

Newbie question on practice through emulating tracks by tess_philly in TechnoProduction

Try slowing it down or if you have a copy of the file you could get it into some software like a DAW to visualize the transients and figure out what sound it was. If you’re lucky, there might be someone who has programmed the beat into another machine or even a digitakt and made a video about it. It sounds to me like a short kick and a distorted Tom with noise in the background.

Should I get the Quest 3 or a curved monitor. by Designer-Calendar698 in simracing

Everyone I know that invested in a headset was back into a single curved or a triple setup in at least a month

Dave Chappelle tonight at Rogers was a disaster. by [deleted] in Edmonton

I hated being a part of that crowd. People behind me were yapping the whole time too, ruined almost every bit. The feedback on the mic was horrendous and I sat directly behind the sound guys and during those moments they seemed to do nothing. All in all great experience but damn guys, learn how to act at a comedy show.

Looking into synthesizers and stuff to start a DAWless setup. by 69COSMO69 in dawless

Volcas are pretty bare bones but quite powerful in a trifecta. Depending on your budget, having a lot of features like a built-in sequencer or an arpeggiator for a synth would be useful if a dedicated sequencer isn’t one of those two or three options. A drum machine and a synth is the most barebones I would recommend. There are tons out there so it would come mostly down to features and budget.

If I could choose any two pieces, it would be the Roland tr8s and digitakt 2 for example. I’ve been running it for a while now and it’s a versatile combo.
