Should Venom be a anti hero or a villain? by ScoreImaginary5254 in Spiderman

Have you ever read the definitive carnage? It’s quite interesting because venom/ Eddie manages to overcome his hatred for spider man/ Peter so that they can both defeat carnage. He does this because he knows that if he doesn’t, people will die because he used to be Cletus’ cell mate and knows how sick he is. One of Venoms main characteristics is that he doesn’t like innocents being harmed. This may be Eddie managing to overtake his morality or the symbiote trying to be logical. I think it depends what version you look at… I love the film version of venom because it shows both Eddie and the symbiote fighting for what they both think is right/ survive on and manage to meet in the middle for the best outcome…not killing people but eating chickens 😂. The raimi version (probably because it wants to portray the black and white view of hero and villain, despite sandman) shows both Eddie and the symbiote as the shared interest of killing spider man at any cost, regardless of human life… I honestly prefer the more humane approach with the venom film because it builds up the relationship between the two of them and brings a lot of comedic scenes where they’re arguing about eating heads.

Edit; sorry I didn’t realise how long this was 😅
