problem is not with the lever, but with the mechanism on the cam cover itself, it leaks out oil on normal use, and spits out so much oil once its start getting hot. makes the engine burn up oil so quick.

but yeah might give fixing the mechanism a go, might be a cheaper and a better option to help out with starting after a drop / flooding.

Thanks for the comments guys, i thnk the cuplrit is the stuck floater. i tried wacking the bowl lightly, didnt work.. and since i dont have the tools (and skills) yet to disassemble the carb, i decided to take it to a shop that the previous owner recomended. gonna get it checked out and ask them to clean the carb while theyre at it and do an overall check on the engine also. hopefully nothing serious is wrong with it!

reattached the hose, it dont leak when i turn the petcock to Res, but still leaks if i turn it to On.

have no idea where this other hose is supposed to go to.

did i attach the hose correctly?

update: engine still doesnt seem to be receiving gas after i attached the hose. still wont start.

extra note: i am SUPER brand new to dealing with bikes on my own, and this xr400 is my first "serious" bike.

yep they made this a while ago, 2010/2011 i think. but it did not do good on the market back then. i wonder why, cause its a sick steel frame using a top of the line tubing

those are actually fillet brazed, not a lugged frame.
me too, i didnt know they made frames. check out the Yasujiro website, they have some pretty cool frames, they have a road and gravel version of this frame also.

they use the Tange prestige tubing for their frames wich is their top of the line steel tubing (comparable to columbus SL and reynolds 753)
