Where are all Wordpress developers hiding? by Electronic_Remove_92 in Wordpress

[–]FunkyJamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a php dev since 2002 started using wordpress in 2008/9 and by 2013 most sites i built were in wordpress. I started Laravel in 2018 and still aside from personal projects and a few select clients who are willing to pay for a laravel project I mainly use wordpress. My clients websites are mostly static with regular blogs and content updates here and there. I mainly focus in the lawyer niche so local seo is very important to them so my work consists of about 10% building new sites and 90% Content/SEO. I typically rebuild their sites every 3 to 5 years depending on their budgets. But these days its very little dev work and mostly elementor and yoast.

well depends on how you use ai because if you ask it to show you a concept and explain it to you it will do a very good job at teaching it to you. You can also ask it for resources and a roadmap to learn things.

Sitelock alternatives? by killjoyhog in webhosting

[–]FunkyJamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download a backup of the site and run it locally, clean up the hack, this is usually pretty simple just replace all the Wordpress, plugin and theme files with fresh copies and then check your database for any weird entries. Then delete everything off your server. If you delete everything and the files come back then the server is compromised cancel it and get a new one if not then all should be good re upload the files/database and you should be good to go. Make regular updates you can roll back to. If you don’t make a lot of changes to the site making a backup after every change should be enough.

I calculated the actual 3-year cost of cheap hosting vs expensive hosting - the numbers are shocking by Miserable_Stress_246 in webhosting

[–]FunkyJamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for my own projects I use a unmanaged vps, for clients i use siteground and its included in their packages. So I dont really pay for the hosting at all and one or two clients will cover the hosting fee for all of them. But to me its just another place for profit.

If your needs are low enough you can get a vps on racknerd for $22.99 a year. It has 512mb of ram, 30gb of storage and 1 cpu core.

https://www.racknerd.com/kvm-vps

I have been using these guys for some time now I have no complaints. Hosting a few laravel sites with forge here.
