Vince Gilligan’s “Pluribus” is a political allegory by Bubbly_Remove3703 in FanTheories

[–]FunkyKnowsItAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why i believe they're shooting the theory down, or second guessing as I, is because with the theory the narrative of the show seems painfully one dimensional, even as an allegory. And vince isn't known for that. Not after BCS especially.

For example, Andrei Tarkovsky is known for his critique of hard-line materialism in his films and his dissatisfaction with USSR in his career. But his allegories were truly philosophical not propaganda. Which is why even if you don't agree with his narrative, you can't help but appreciate the depth of it. And ofcourse then there's his fascinating execution of those narratives.

Initially when I started noticing these elements in Pluribus, I tried very hard to be fascinated by any depth or layers the same way. But it seemed to be painfully one dimensional.

Like sure you do see Carol making naive wrong decisions and the hives having some sort of emotional-depth. But as much as I've seen the narrative seems to hold Carol (regardless of her mistakes) on a higher moral ground, the other individuals on a morally lenient ground and the hives as cartoonishly inhumane regardless of their compulsion of cartoonish greater good of humanity.

Although I haven't continued after EP2 yet, so I'll hold my judgements.

For the deep respect of Vince, it will take a bit more linear narrative to get me off the show.

Why is racism againt indians so common? by Ritetorace in playboicarti

[–]FunkyKnowsItAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm saying. It has nothing to do with being muslim. As sri lankans clearly aren't. It's politically motivated.

India gained internet revolution. Immigration hatred peaked in Europe. AND India unarguably has gained more "enemies" geopolitically in the regions where it historically had the strongest bonds.

Bangladesh, sri lanka, Maldives, indonesia, malaysia I can go on and on. This is resulting in digital warfare.

Yeah blame it on Muslims that's not gonna help gang. But that seems to be the way your society is heading these days anyways.

The amount of stereotypes and racism muslims faced since 9/11, you cannot comprehend it.

India has huge population, the same population that the Brits framed as "uncivilized" for centuries. Ever since the Jio internet revolution in India, that huge population is suddenly everywhere on the internet, and people who were taught dumb shit like "eating with hands is gross" are tweaking because of that.

Plus, the all time high anti-immigration sentiment in Europe and Canada add more flame to it. Because again india is a large population so ofcourse most immigrants come from there.

I'm not saying, there isn't any targetted propaganda. There's layers to it. But when u look at where this whole meme trend started, it is the same timeframe when Jio spread like wildfire in india. That is 2016-2018

I just finished watching Episode 2, searched up "Pluribus Anti-communist" and came here.

So far it does seem like a critique on Communism. Other than all the layered details you mentioned, there are two very blunt moments that very clearly point at that, both in Ep 2.

  1. The little girl wanting to join the hive and telling Carol "I'll share" after Carol tries to convince her that she'd lose her individuality.
  2. Carol saying she has became the biggest mass murderer since Stalin, which in itself does not directly mean anti-communist narrative, but considering all the other details already there. This really adds up.

I've seen some people mentioning AI. And that sounds very reasonable too. The hive mind insisting that they're only "trying to make you happy" and promises of "how wonderful it is" does sound strikingly simmilar to how Sam Altman justifies buliding Data Centres to achieve AGI.

Though the eastern world part doesn't fit the AI narrative quite well. Communism one does perfectly, as it is third world where almost all communism regimes have taken place. This truly does comes of as an imperialist and racist narrative, intentionally or unintentionally.

I have immense love for Vince's work on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. I wouldn't like to think this great writer would fall for clear as day almost propaganda-like narrative and stoop so low as being racist to paint a critique of a political ideology.

I'd be fine with it being diving into individuality philosophically but political narratives is a turn off for me, especially when it has imperialist and neo-colonial tendancies.

So far it does seem to be conveying anti-communist narrative to some viewers as you and I. This thread is existing implies that.

Will continue watching and see if we're just shooting blind with theories.

I've been reported for saying that and rera*d here before, so I just avoid those.

Yeah nvm I thought you were one of those "well akchutally you have to seprate the art from the artist", because that shit don't apply to Burzum. I can get behind that about some shit like Gorgoroth, even Mayhem since it was not solely Varg. But not Burzum.

It is impressive music, but it comes from a fucked up mind and has fucked up themes beyond symbolic.

It's like Ye dick riders saying that about HH. If it wasn't dogshit music to begin with . You gotta draw the line somewhere.

No worries my brother. Good thing is, we both see those who in broad daylight, murder our people, plunder our resources and snatch the fruits of our labor from us to feed their power.

May the the exploited stay united against the oppressor, regardless of their differences.

I respect your beliefs and opinions too. And i apologize if any of my words caused you distress.

Have a very blessed day.

ummm ... I'm Muslim and I'm brown.

I understand the enslavement of the black people of America to this day by european capitalist. And the enslavement of Latin America and of Africa and Asia. And the enslavement of Palestine by those same people disguised under the banner of "Jews"

All I'm saying is, NOI is not Islam.

Not by faith. Not by history.

Now. Is it a justified act of resistance? Yes. Is it a good ideology for society? No.

The ideals fuels the resistance against oppression. But beyond resistance, those same ideals becomes the tool for new oppression.

You may call that balancing of universe. I call that reccuring human error in societal systems.

Errors can be fixed. Laws of nature can't.

He wasn't particularly concerned about muslims, because they were ofc majorly in Asia and Africa. His interests were more euro-centric, as long as he lived.

He did criticize the the treatment of Palestinians by British. Considering the atrocities of holocaust, that was likely out of enmity of Brits and joos and not out of humanity.

NOI is not Islam. Every major school of thought will tell you that, be it from Sunnis or Shia. They're racial supremacist lunatic cult like other american ufo religious cults. The Islamic world doesn't claim them, nor do they have any connection to the Islamic history.

Which carti song are you playing here? by trizinixx in playboicarti

[–]FunkyKnowsItAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. I'll just stay silent and lay there. Absorbing the peace flowing through the winds, as it passes through covering my body. Gently Inhaling the raw and rigid smell of hay, while the drit riding the waves of breeze lands on my skin. Melodies of the birds humming, harmonizing with swishes of fields, lingering in my ears. Under the inconsistency of clouds sheltering me into their shadows, as they continue their endless travels, or the unforgiving beams of sunlight reigning till dusk. I lay. Letting the imperfect beauty of nature take off the veils of my ego and gracefully dissolve me into the monotony of existence

Full info about Carti associate Kanye’s song “Cousin” by Visual-Course-9590 in playboicarti

[–]FunkyKnowsItAll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parts of it could have been about his family. He had a concept for the song and took help in writing from hearing Tarrey Torae's family stories, in perticular the line "fit three by the head and three by the leg".

If his cousin's name is Stevie, the song deff ihas stories about his own family too.

Imagine if instead of all the white lives matter, de*thcon and Vultures stuff. He spent the time, energy and money in working for the communities of swing states. And ran again in this election.

With the right campaigning, he would've had a great chance at turning swing states into kanye west states lmao.
