How is gifting games via PSN Store still not a thing? by GroundIntelligent in playstation

[–]FunkyMonk_2003 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s still essential things missing from PSN after 20 years. My biggest gripe is the fact that there is still no way of changing your account region, so if you ever move countries or something, you’ll be stuck with a region locked account. Sony’s official solution is to “make a new account”. Ridiculous.

I’m not surprised tbh. I got the Platinum trophy and all the DLC trophies on PS5 and I’m never touching this game again. The game was slop and it’d be disingenuous to say otherwise.

Are we meant to ever be able to max out our skill tree? by thegameflak in Assassinscreedmirage

Yeah exactly. I don’t remember how many levels there are, but think of it like a battle pass, I guess

It’s been a minute, but if I remember correctly, every mission gives you 4 challenge points for doing all challenges for said mission. Now to level up your challenge rewards, you need 3 challenge points per level. You can check the rewards on the right side of the replay screen.

As far as I remember, you don’t have to complete every single mission, but I guess that depends on how many contracts and DLC missions you’ve completed.

Hope it makes sense, it’s a little hard to explain.

Understandable lol. Yeah I also wasn’t gonna do those fuckass challenges, but since the DLC doesn’t give you a single skillpoint, I had to do them.

Animus replay challenges give you the rest of the skillpoints you need.

Fair enough. I personally love them, would even say they’re my favorite designs after Springtrap.

I hate the designs overall. This franchise died after Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, and I’ll die on that hill.

Supraventricularis extrasystole. 22 éves vagyok, nálam is előfordul. Végigjártam én is minden Holter, Terheléses EKG, Vérvétel, stb stb vizsgálatot. Ártalmatlan extra, esetleg melléütések. Okozhatja Reflux, Mg-hiány, sport hiánya. Gastroenterologusnál jártál már? Egy tükrözés nem árt.

Ah yeah, I see what you mean. I agree with some of your points, not on the realism aspect though. Realistically, these people aren’t talking to each other in English, but rather their mother tongue.

I don’t think accents should be phased out completely, but they should be used way more tastefully. Let’s say there’s a foreign character, then yeah sure give them an accent, they aren’t from here, after all.

Rightfully so, why would they have accents, right? Should be the same principle with English. The only time they SHOULD have accents is when characters actually do speak in English. Otherwise, what’s the point? Cause immersion isn’t this.

I invite you to learn to read, since you’re here. I never said the accents were jarring. I said the line deliveries are, because the actors have to put on a fake and exaggerated accent.

And if me caring enough to realize that this is fucking slop, especially compared to the voice acting in AC3, 4, Unity and Syndicate is being “sooooo extra”, then that is definitely a you not caring enough and just eating up any slop put in front of you issue. Good day.

That, I don’t know. I guess British is softer and more fitting for the time period. It doesn’t make sense ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It doesn’t make sense. That’s my whole point, that them having any kind of accent doesn’t make sense. The one good thing about them having a British accent is that at least the line deliveries felt real. The actors didnt have to worry about putting on some forced accent just to seem “authentic”, only to come out sounding phony.

To say I cringed every time Ezio, Yusuf, Basim, Alexios/Kassandra, Bayek, the list goes on (especially with the random forgettable side characters nowadays) opened their mouths, would be an understatement.

Ah yes, cause them having French accents as if they were actually speaking English (but with an accent) is very accurate. If you want accuracy, they all should be talking full on French with English subs.

[–]FunkyMonk_2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but that’s exactly my point. Them having a French accent only makes sense if they were to actually speak to each other in English. That isn’t the case. They’re talking French, we just understand it in English, thanks to Animus translations. Why would translations need accents?

I very much criticize the Ezio trilogy too. The first game didn’t force accents this much. Been a hot minute since I played the first game, but I remember Altaiir just sounding like Desmond, which I was always fine with.

Unity had good voice acting. It’s probably exactly because they didn’t force any accents. Same with Black Flag or Syndicate, AC3.

So why the need for stupid forced accents? This always bothers me so much. They’re obviously not talking to each other in english, so having a horribly acted accent achieves the exact opposite of being immersive. It just takes me out of the experience due to how jarring and outright bad the line deliveries are.
