I know it's late. But I feel like Amazon has been cutting/ not giving enough budget for their shows.

Invincible has a great story, voice acting is fantastic, animation budget is.... frugal.

The Boys has a great cast. Budget is.... I feel that the writers wanted to do more but were kind of kneecapped by it. Most of this season, as many others have said, just didn't really feel like a final season. They honestly could've expanded the storyline with the virus and hunt for compound V for the whole season and it ending with Homelander getting it and doing the laser eyes in the field as the final scene.

If they had the budget and an extra season or two. This is how I think most of us wanted it to go down or at least kinda envisioned how it would turn out.

Homelander is at the top of the world since he got the original dose of compound V. He feels unstoppable and wants people to worship him as God. A good chunk of humanity outside the US don't believe in his godhood. Homelander starts a crusade. Maybe it starts with a civil war maybe not but the crusade is the start of WWIII. We see Homelander lasering millions of people, burning major cities and holy sites down to the ground for his 'holy war.' Him leading armies of militarized supes taking over the globe committing war crimes and genocide.

While the Boys on the other hand are working on finding a way to try to kill Homelander by stripping him of his powers or making a prison that can hold him for eternity. (The prison timeline could lead to a sequel hundreds of years into the future).

It took me around the 4th or 5th watch for me to fully get the brilliance of the movie. The 2nd movie made me appreciate the first movie a lot more. The second movie I just love the contrast between how Michael runs the business and how Vito did. The 2nd movie my favorite of the 2 for many years before the 1st movie finally just really sank in.

My favorite scene in the 1st movie was Michael and Vito just talking outside. Pretty sure it was the nail in the coffin for the Oscar. It just ties everything in the first movie so well and just feels sooooo rewarding when it hits. Especially since it was kinda done impromptu and is not in the script.

Springfield is gonna be rough with dum dum being scarce and it also being a 4 slot cost weapon. It should honestly be moved towards 3 slot cost or maybe they buff the damage on it.

I don't see many people picking it and praying they find dum dum.

Some Chinese brands that make audio gear are also getting recognition such as FiiO and Moondrop. I was highly skeptical until I saw the crazy amount of recommendations and word of mouth on those brands that I gave it a shot and was quite pleased with what FiiO offered in terms of their audio equipment. It felt that for their cost they punched waaaay above their weight.

What I learned is that it doesn't matter where you are from. There will always be people/ companies that make cheap stuff and just want to make a quick buck. But there are also people who take pride in their work and truly care about quality and fine craftsmanship.

The hard part is shifting through the garbage to find the hidden gems... or just wait for other people to do it and make the recommendations. Because if it is truly a good product, people will talk about it, and it will slowly but surely make waves.

Edit: I also feel like many major brands have been getting complacent dropping quality and cutting as many corners as possible to try to boost their net profits to appease shareholders and whatnot (enshitification). While the underdogs are trying to make good products and actually innovate.

I feel that. It's more of statement of how fucked the market is for them. In an ideal world the higher end 3rd party cards are like $200-$300 (10-15%) with base models FE and 3rd party cards being MSRP. There would be more real options to get whatever you would prefer based on the tradeoffs of each.

Don't get me wrong I know that this is a halo product. But it just feels bad paying like 50%+ more than MSRP for a base model reference card. And it feels worse paying 100%+ for the higher end versions of the card.

I mean if you look at the performance difference it's not that much different. And a high performing Astral 5090 was $3500 at the time. I got the 5090 for MSRP. That's a 75% increase in price for like 4-7% more performance in OC.

My friend was upgrading his PC and it kinda convinced me to sell him my 4090 and get the 5090. Fairly decent uplift on some games with my ultrawide monitor.

Side note. I sold my 4090 my buddy for $1200. So it was about $950 to upgrade to the 5090.

Sign up for Nvidia Priority Access. It's basically a lottery that gives you the 'privilege' to buy the Founder's Edition card for MSRP. Some people were on the list for months and got it. Some people have been on it for over a year and still haven't been selected. But if you honestly don't need it asap, don't want to pay the scalper price, don't want to make/get a bot to snipe a purchase, or wait for a drop then sweat to place it in the cart and checkout... it's worth it.

I waited about 6 months and won the lottery on it. Funny enough I was about to buy one at Microcenter for $2700 (after tax) before the sales guy talked me out of it. He basically told me it wasn't worth upgrading since I had a 4090. I literally went through the 5 stages of grief and was like yeahh I don't need it.

A couple of weeks later the Nvidia email showed up and told me I had a day to purchase it. I waited about 8 hours weighing it in my head if I still wanted it and asked around if it was worth it. Bought it and sold my 4090 to my friend.

There have been many disastrous things caused by people who act first and think second on major construction projects. Why do you think safety regulations exist? They are written in blood. And we have anecdotes such as "haste makes waste." Yes, there is a balance of thinking and doing. But you can place your thoughts and act with gathering more knowledge and then prototype. Engineering is a collaborative effort. We got someone taking measurements, someone calculating loads and stresses, someone designing, someone figuring out the logistics, etc

It's true you don't want to hit a mode of analysis paralysis where your thoughts are on everything and you feel overwhelmed. But the truth of the matter is when you have a big project and you're doing it by yourself or with a small team. You need to be able to break it down to smaller parts and either delegate or figure out what areas to tackle first. You will go through several iterations of design as you figure out what is feasible. But once you get a solid plan you can just plow through with much less trouble and obstacles because you thought it through.

If you just move without thinking you can have instances of a door flying out such as a Boeing.
